Night Time Friend
Sometimes a friend isn't exactly what you expected.

What a day. It was busy as usual in this city. There's always something to talk about. Never a dull moment. At least that's what I think. I choose to wake up and seize the day. Yes! A dose of carpe diem and I'm ready for the day. But now it's time for me to wind down and rest my body for the night. I wonder what tonight will bring in this busy city?
I just got some new neighbors that moved in across from me. They seem to be nice I think. I haven't spoken to them yet. A young couple and I haven't seen any children so far. They've only been here for a couple of days. Maybe one day I introduce myself and welcome them to the building.
There goes those sirens blaring again. I hear them so much that I think I couldn't sleep without them. I think that's so crazy but I guess it's what comes with this city living. Sometimes I think to myself, can there really be that much trouble happening? They say crime never sleeps and with how much I here siren, I definitely can believe that as a fact.

Earlier today I saw a twenty dollar bill on the ground. I felt like it was my lucky day. So as I was walking towards it to snatch up I thought to myself, "Look at God looking out for me." I'm looking around to make sure nobody else notices it or is looking for it. Now I'm standing over what appeared to be a folded, fresh, crispy twenty just to find out it was just a flier. No wonder people was just walking by it. I felt so silly for a moment and just laughed at myself. My laugh for the day. I hope nobody saw that because the way I moved in on that twenty I would've laughed seeing someone doing it. I wonder how many other people fell for it.

Now back to the night action going on outside my window. It seems to be some action happening in the alley across the street. Two lovers, what I will call them, in the shadows loving on each other. They make me remember my younger days with my lover. We were so adventurous sexually and didn't care who saw us. A little P.D.A. didn't hurt nobody until we got caught on a restaurant balcony. It was so dark and we thought no one would see us. I never thought I could run so fast with my pants down. Those were the days of being young and dumb I guess. Such a great memory lookin at these two lovers.
There's a barn owl that comes and sits on the outside of my window from time to time. I wonder what it's thinking about as it sits at my window. It probably thinks I have the best view of the city. Maybe it sees the best meals from here. It just sits there staring in my window sometimes. So creepy. I named it Peeper. I think the name fits it.

So my night time friend that's was some of the events of my day and our show of events for the night. You are my oldest and longest friend and I really appreciate our night time talks. Even if I'm the only one talking. I have so many stories to share with you and I know you don't mind listening . I wonder what tomorrow will bring. What will I get myself into? What will I see on my daily walks through this busy city? Good night my night time friend.
