My Mysterious Friend
It was summer vacation, a very impactful time of my life, as it was mid June and my dad and I just moved from Tallahassee to Miami, Florida. I was helping my dad and the Uhaul crew move everything into our new two story house. I was only nine so there was only so much I could help with as the main thing I was looking for was my Emerald green bike. I found my bike then all of sudden two boys, both of them 13 popped out of nowhere. “Hi I’m Kyle we’re just moving in.” One of them gave a sarcastic “Well Duh” and pointed at the Uhaul truck. “I’m Jeff and this is Victor, that’s a pretty little bicycle you got”. Then Victor asked “Yeah you wouldn’t mind if I rode it a little bit do you”? “I don’t know I love this bike”. “If you let me ride it I can ask my mom if you can come with us to Disney World.” “You mean it”. “Sure”. “Well...okay just be careful with it”. Victor got on the bike and started doing some risky tricks with it. “Um could you be careful with my bike, my grandma gave it to me for my birthday. It's really special to me.” Jeff swatted my back. “Chill you wanna go to Disney World don’t you”? “Yeah, but.” “What are you 2”? “I’m almost 10.” “Then quit being a baby”.
I then heard a big crash and turned around to see my bike planted on the street curve. My Golden-Shepherd puppy Smokey ran out the house and started barking at Victor. “Look what you did, you got scratches all over my bike!” Victor snickered. “Dude don't cry about.” “You ruined my bike ruined my bike you stupid jerk!” “Hey you not about to talk to my boy like that you little jit”. I was angry, tears ran down my eyes. “Say you’re sorry before I tell my dad!” “Yeah right, like I’m actually gonna apologize to a little bastard.” I ran up to Jeff and pushed him. “If you don’t say sorry you’ll regret it!” Then Victor punched in the jaw and knocked me down. “Listen Jit we don’t like being threatened, but now that we know you’re a whiny snitch you can forget about Disney World”. I held my throbbing mouth. “That’s fine I wouldn’t want to be seen with guys ugly like y'all”. “Ugly? Oh that’s it” Jeff got up and snatched my bike but I grabbed it to stop him. “Give me my bike!” Smokey growled and barked at Jeff but kicked my dog and slung me to the ground. “You want your bike back, you gotta fight me for it, come on Vic”. “Yeah right behind you”.
That night I put ice on my busted lip and was too ashamed to tell my dad what happened so I told I fell out of a tree since I liked to climb them. I laid in bed crying with Smokey on the side of me. “I hate those guys Smokey! Since we live here now, I gotta deal with them everyday. I was bigger then they wouldn’t mess with me.” “Do you want revenge?” “Who said that? Dad”. “No my little friend”. An 8 foot tall ghost with a black combat mask appeared and my heart was racing like crazy. “Hey I’m already being picked on by a bunch of jerks, I don’t need three.” “Calm yourself Kyle, I’m here to help.” “Help? Wait how do you know my name?” “I have knowledge of every kid who is bullied by others and isn't able to fight back”. “It was your great anger and sorrow that summoned me. So I see you need help with two boys who aren’t very nice?” “Yeah, Jeff and Victor, they beat me up, kicked my dog, scratched and stole my bike”. “Can you get my bike back for me?” “Don’t fret Kyle, I'll take care of them.” “Okay, thanks but don’t hurt them. By the way what’s your name?” “You can call me… Ryker.”
“Hahaha, we should have put a ransom note or something for the bike Vic”. “Yeah the dork is probably crying himself to sleep right now. I’m only mad that I didn’t take the bike sooner”. “Hey I’ll give it back… after I take it down Mudslide Mountain.” “If Kyle thought the scratches were bad he’s gonna freak out when he sees the dried mud and dings all over.” Oh that is gonna be priceless Jeff.” “Hey why is it so cold in your house”? “I don’t know. My parents went to Applebee's and I didn’t touch the thermostat.” “Come on Avengers Endgame is about to start” “Suddenly all the lights are turned off”. “Um Jeff, I'm getting kinda freaked out right now.” “Chill dude, it must be some kind of power outage”. “Ahahahaha! Let Me In”. Ryker appeared shrouded in ominous purple mist with Rattlesnakes surrounding Jeff and Victor. “Vic! What the hell is going on!?” “How I should know, it's your house!” “Let’s get out here”! The Rattlesnakes coiled and shook their tails and stopped the two bullies in their tracks. “Vic I’m seriously about to piss my pants right now”! Jeff turned around and saw Victor’s face melting. Aaaaaahhh! Oh God! “You’re real tough when picking on little kids, but look who’s crying now”. “There’s only one place for bullies and that’s the Netherworld”. “No Please”. “See ya”. The ghost sucked the bullies and the entire house in a dark vortex. Leaving nothing but Kyle’s restored bike.
The next thing I knew was waking at 9:00 A.M. Whoa. That was a dream. My dad called downstairs and I couldn’t believe what I saw. My bike! My face couldn’t have a bigger smile not only for seeing my bike but also seeing a cop carry Jeff and Victor by their shirt collars. A neighbor saw these two steal your bike the other day, so I got it back for you. Also their parents agreed to make them do 2 weeks of community service. I ran and gave the cop named Steve a big hug. Thank you for getting my bike back Officer Steve.
