Dear world or Whomever it may concern.

Letter written in haste before I die, for I fear I may not escape her evil plans. I am Marjorie Greenwich, the estranged once best friend of Darlene Darling, who resides at #13 such and such road. To be read only on the event of my demise...or hers, whichever comes first. God only hope it is sooner rather than later, for she is not who she appears to be. Everyone though of her as a wonderful old lady.

Geez, were you ever so wrong.

Before she passed away, Ms. Darling, at age 85, had acute memory loss. She had never married and never had children of her own. Yet her home at 13 Recollection Road, was always filled with the neighborhood families. She loved children, pets and every small little things. Mama D. as she was known, never really cared much for the adult people.

What you didn't, and still don't know is that the woman is actually an alien. She has a portal in her downstairs bathroom. Whenever anyone comes to the house, she would duplicate them, throw their bodies into the portal where her species waited to disintegrate them...and smilingly sent the duplicate on its way. She has been doing it for a very long time.

Their plan is to replace us all with alien replicas.

I know no one would believe me even if I had told them. If anyone went to investigate, she would just show them to the bathroom and that was the end of that.

If you think that she is dead, you have another guess coming. The vessel which she inhabits has died. But not Ms. alien Darling. Just you wait, in a few ticks of the clock she will move right back in as someone else.

Last night as I was sleeping, I heard a scratching sound outside my window. I looked out and....OH JESUS and the angels...It was the skeleton of the poor dead woman...Darling must have shed her skin somehow. For the bony thing was climbing up the flowered trellis of my bedroom, clawing its way to my window.

She was coming to inhabit my body and soul.

I locked the window tight, and proceeded to write this letter. I called 911, telling them that an alien was coming to take over my body...but I could hear them having a laugh at my expense. Anyway, I still told them where to find the letter.

SHE TRIED FOR A LONG TIME. BUT FINALLY OPENED THE WINDOW, NOW SHE LOOKs LIKE AN ALIEN...WHERE ARE THE COPS. OH, I AM DONE FOR.

What a very ugly thing she is. I grabbed my phone and took a picture.

If the stupid policemen won't listen to me, and share this letter with the world...you will all become aliens.

Maybe you all deserve to anyway. Maybe the aliens are right.

I'm dropping the phone with the pic and letter into the dresser drawer.

Goodbye world.

Yours Marj..........

I love how Marjorie’s frantic tone mirrors her descent into terror, it blurs the line between paranoia and something truly otherworldly.

Fascinating. I love how it just trails off at the end. The image of the alien was a nice touch as well. Great job.

I can imagine Marj feels incredibly frightened with no one believing her.... But I still don't believe her!
