Moonlight Madness
A newlywed couple's honeymoon is threatened by the sudden appearance of a supernatural beast

For Simone Kimball, the happiest moment in her young life was the very day she walked down the aisle and said, "I do," to her now-husband, Alex Maxwell. It was love at first sight for the couple, and they didn't waste time when it came to tying the knot. Simone felt that the time was right, and it was a sentiment that Alex vehemently shared, though their shared passion was met with a feeling from those around them that they were rushing into things. Simone and Alex had only been together for seven months, and even though both were only in their 30s, it was decided that waiting was not an option.
The newlyweds later arrived at their honeymoon destination: a beautiful cabin in a wooded area, where they would enjoy a weekend of romantic bliss. "I must say," Alex said, "this is quite an interesting choice you made for our honeymoon. Scenic, yet beautiful. I'll be honest, I never pegged you as the 'outdoors' type."
"I'm just full of surprises, aren't I?" Simone asked playfully while approaching her husband.
"Are there any more on the way?" asked Alex, who was met with a romantic embrace from Simone before entering the cabin. The couple arrived just hours before night began to fall, and they spent their first day of their honeymoon weekend enjoying the outdoors, their surroundings, and most importantly, each other. However, as they slept late that evening, Alex was awakened strange sounds from outside the cabin.
"What was that?"
"Alex," said Simone, "it's 3 o'clock in the morning."
"I know, hon," said Alex. "I heard some noises outside; howling noises."
"It was probably only a dog," replied Simone.
"Nah, dogs don't sound like that," said Alex. "It's more like a wolf."
"Don't be silly," said Simone. "There aren't any wolves here. Go back to sleep." Alex acquiesced, but the following morning saw both halves of the couple awakened by a different noise: a blood-curdling scream. Alex and Simone rushed outside and saw a blonde woman crying hysterically; they had recognized her instantly, as they saw the same woman with her husband a day prior as they arrived at the cabin, but this occurrence was far less jovial.
"Hello?" Alex shouted as he and Simone approached the woman, who appeared to be shame-faced upon seeing the couple.
"Oh my goodness," the woman replied. "You're that couple I saw before. I'm sorry I disturbed you."
"Don't be sorry," said Simone. "I'm Simone, this is my husband, Alex. What happened?"
"I'm Kaitlyn," the woman replied. "Kaitlyn Monroe. It's my husband, Rob. He's...he's..." Kaitlyn could barely get the words out; she was too distraught and shocked. Alex and Simone brought Kaitlyn to their cabin, and as they drank coffee together, Kaitlyn managed to compose herself and finally give the full details.
"I woke up this morning," said Kaitlyn, "and I found my husband, in the living room, in a pool of blood. It looked like an animal mauled him!"
"I told you there was some sort of animal last night!" exclaimed Alex.
"You heard it?" asked Kaitlyn.
"My husband heard howling sounds late last night," said Simone. "Are there any wolves in this area?"
"I don't really recall," answered Kaitlyn. "But an literal wolf couldn't have done that to Rob."
"Maybe a werewolf could," Simone said, with Alex looking at his wife in extreme disbelief.
"Excuse me?"
"What?" asked Simone.
"Simone, you can't be serious," Alex said with a chuckle, "I mean, come on. Werewolves?"
"Do you have a better explanation?" asked Simone, after which Alex stood silent but remained defiant in his stance. Kaitlyn thanked the couple for consoling her in her time of need, however, later that evening, their sleep was again interrupted by the howling sounds that plagued them on the previous night.
"That's it," said Alex. "Time to get to the bottom of this." After making sure not to wake up Simone, Alex left their bedroom and grabbed a gun before leaving the house in search of whatever was out there. Alex searched vigilantly and was expecting not to find anything, but he suddenly saw a figure from close by and rushed to get a closer look, only for his vision to suddenly disappear.
"Maybe it's all in my head," thought Alex, before he was suddenly startled by a growling creature who appeared in front of him. The beast ran off and managed to avoid Alex's shots, though Alex managed to wing the creature's leg. Despite their brief face-to-face encounter, Alex noticed the beast's yellow eyes and wolf-like appearance, though he couldn't actually believe that he had actually seen a werewolf. Nevertheless, Alex actually tracked the beast all the way to the Kaitlyn's cabin, leading Alex to believe that it could be after her next. However, Alex would later see the werewolf actually shift into its human form, and would receive the ultimate shock.
"Kaitlyn?"
The female werewolf's name was all Alex could utter before his exhaustion over the ordeal caused him to fall out. When he woke up, he saw Simone standing over him, and also realized that it was morning, and that he was in their bedroom.
"Where the hell were you last night?!" asked Simone. "I heard gunshots and suddenly, you were gone!" Alex couldn't respond; he was still focused on what he had seen last night, and as soon as he had opened his eyes, he leapt out of bed in mere seconds.
"Pack up, we're leaving!" declared Alex.
"Why?" asked Simone.
"I'll tell you why!" answered Alex. "Because you were right! There's a werewolf in this area, and it's Kaitlyn!" Alex's revelation was only met with laughter by Simone, much to her husband bewilderment.
"I'm sorry, you find this funny?"
"Alex, honey, I was joking," said Simone. "I mean, you can't possibly believe in such things, right?"
"I know what I saw last night, Simone," said Alex.
"OK, let's say that werewolves exist," said Simone. "They come out during the full moon, right? There wasn't one last night. I think you took my joke seriously, and it led you to have a nightmare. You need to relax." Simone walked up to her husband and started caressing him before making out with Alex, who began to calm down thanks to his wife's actions. Alex looked at the calendar and, sure enough, the third night of their honeymoon weekend: a full moon was scheduled.
Moments before the full moon was set to rise, Alex snuck off to Kaitlyn's cabin, with a reloaded gun, while--again--making sure that he didn't wake up Simone. To Alex's surprise, the front door was unlocked, allowing him to enter without any problems and search for Kaitlyn, only to be interrupted by the following statement:
"You better have silver bullets in that gun."
Alex turned around and saw Kaitlyn standing across from him, brandishing a sinister smile on her face. "Come on, Alex," she said, "you aren't really going to shoot me, are you?"
"Stay back," warned Alex. "I know what you are and I know you killed your husband."
"You mean, 'put him out of his pathetic misery'," commented Kaitlyn. "Rob was an absolute bore. I was married to him for eight long years. I was willing to settle for continuing my tedious marriage, and then this wonderful gift happened, and I realized that I deserve something more in my life." Kaitlyn removed her clothes in front of Alex, and later opened the curtains to unveil the full moon from outside her window. Alex watched intensely as Kaitlyn's claws broke through her fingernails, and her body was covered with white fur, all while Kaitlyn moaned in a mixture of pain and sadistic pleasure. Her fangs and pointed ears completed her transformation, and afterwards, Kaitlyn faced Alex with her piercing, yellow, wolf-like eyes.
"Oh my goodness!"
Alex suddenly heard the voice of his wife, Simone, from behind him, and upon seeing her, Alex became elated, as he was proven right in front of his wife. As Kaitlyn moved closer to them, Alex began to fire his gun, only to find out that it wasn't loaded, much to Alex's shock.
"Looking for these?" Simone said as she distributed a batch of silver bullets, right before she suddenly delivered a backhand slap to her husband, while revealing that her hand had long claws. Alex watched in horror as Simone, his newlywed wife, transformed into a werewolf, with black fur covering her body, and afterwards, she walked up Simone and made out with her in front of Alex.
"I told you, honey," Simone said with an evil smirk, "I'm just full of surprises. But I saved my best one for last." As Kaitlyn used her strength to easily pick up Alex and hold him at bay, the evil Simone faced her husband and revealed everything to him. "I've been a werewolf for about two years now," she said, "and while I didn't think I would find love, I managed to do so...with Kaitlyn. I was out prowling when I saw her, she was so beautiful."
"You attacked her, didn't you?" asked Alex. "That's how you turned her."
"I would never harm her!" Simone shouted as she again slapped Alex with her claws.
"Let's just say...there's no such thing as safe sex with a werewolf," Kaitlyn said before she and Simone both cackled in glee.
"All of this is why I chose this place for our honeymoon," continued Simone. "All because of Kaitlyn, and because it's the perfect setting for your demise." Simone later clawed Alex's throat to complete her murderous scheme, and she again made out with Kaitlyn afterwards.
"Like I said before," said Simone. "Werewolves don't exist, and the fools who learn about this will pass it off as a random animal attack."
"And we'll be off on a tropical island," said Kaitlyn.
"All thanks to my late hubby's riches," cackled Simone, "which I, as his widow, now inherit." The sinister she-wolves howled in fiendish glee as they kissed each other once again, showing immense satisfaction over relationship and the success of their villainous plot.
