Meet Cute Review!!
Sheila, a young woman grappling with suicidal thoughts, discovers that a tanning bed in a nail salon is a time machine. Traveling back 24 hours, she relives the best date night of her life over and over, only to decide that her boyfriend, Gary, needs some fixing. Unaware that meddling with the past could ruin the future, Sheila goes even further back in time to turn him into the perfect man -- even though he was already pretty perfect.

The allure of movie meet-cutes is undeniable. These charming and captivating moments, often marked by a promise of something special, pull us in and make us invested in the characters' relationships. However, not all meet-cutes live up to their potential. Even the most memorable encounters can fall flat if the rest of the story fails to match the initial excitement. But, with her anthology film "Meet Cute," first-time filmmaker Deepthi Ghanta avoids this pitfall.
"Meet Cute" is a five-part feel-good romantic anthology, each episode centered around a memorable first meeting. Although the theme of meet-cute runs throughout the film, it's refreshing to see that not all of these meetings lead to future romantic relationships.
This diversity broadens our emotional response to the film's collection of short stories. The movie "Meet The Boy" revolves around the relationship between Swati, a young woman played by Varsha Bollamma, and her overbearing mother. The mother constantly pressures her daughter to go on dates with men chosen for her from a matrimonial website. Swati has reluctantly gone on several of these dates before and has perfected the art of escaping them quickly.
However, her latest date with a man named Abhi (played by Ashwin Kumar) takes her by surprise. Despite her initial skepticism, she finds herself drawn to Abhi and his surprising perspective on their arranged meeting. Despite a promising premise, the film falls short in its shallow execution and lackluster 30-minute conversation between the couple.
In "Old Is Gold," we follow Soraja (played by Ruhani Sharma), a young woman who is in the midst of a heated argument with her husband over the phone. As she visits the consulate to secure her visa for a long-awaited trip to Europe, she is confronted by her uncooperative husband, putting a damper on her excitement. However, at the consulate, she meets Mohan Rao (played by Sathyaraj), an elderly man who is an expert in all things related to relationships. Soraja takes notice of Mohan's physical limitations and offers to help him, leading to a conversation between the two strangers that reveals their lives are more similar than they first thought. Through this exchange, Soraja gains a fresh perspective on her relationship and the significance of the small conflicts and disagreements she has with her husband. The film presents a touching and heartwarming tale of love and relationships.
In L(AW)OVE is a heart-warming film that explores the relationship between Padma, a single mother played by Rohini, and Pooja, her son's girlfriend portrayed by Aakanksha Singh. Padma initially appears to be a conservative and protective mother, who may not believe that any woman is suitable for her son. However, when she meets Pooja, she finds herself on a mission to find reasons to reject her.

Padma discovers that Pooja is older than her son and a divorcee. The film's central conflict arises when Pooja discusses adopting dogs from a rescue shelter. She says that people are quick to adopt young and healthy pets, but it takes a person with a big heart to care for pets with problems, like herself. Will Padma have the big heart to accept Pooja into her family? The film is touching, thanks to the fantastic chemistry between Rohini and Aakanksha Singh.
The fourth film in the anthology, Star Struck, is a variation of Notting Hill. Adah Sharma stars as a movie star who finds herself hitchhiking with a stranger. After her car breaks down in the rain, her stylist sends her off with a stranger instead of calling an Uber.
The stranger, Aman, played by Shiva Kandukuri, is a nerd who is out of touch with pop culture and is unable to recognize Meera. Despite their awkward exchange, Aman invites Meera to his apartment for warm clothes and good food. As Meera gets to know Aman, she realizes that he has all the qualities she has been dreaming of. Aman is tidy, can cook, and has a taste for the finer things. Meera is star-struck by a non-celebrity man who leads a simple life.
