LUNA

The Silver Wolf

By Haris HadzicPublished 2 years ago 3 min read
Loneliest howl,a resemblance of our own moments we've all encountered

In a secluded part of the mystical forest, where ancient trees whispered secrets to the wind, there lived a young silver wolf pup named Luna. Luna was unlike any other wolf in her pack. Her fur glistened like the palest silver under the moonlight, earning her the name that meant "moon" in the ancient language of the wolves. Her eyes shone like twin sapphires, harboring an unquenchable curiosity about the world beyond her pack.

One fateful night, as Luna's pack gathered under the full moon's glow, a celestial event unfolded. An asteroid, streaking across the sky, collided with the moon. Silver dust showered down upon the Earth, a phenomenon unseen for centuries.

Luna, a tiny wolf pup, scampered away from the pack's excited chatter to investigate the shimmering moon dust. As she ventured closer, the silver particles clung to her fur, embedding themselves into her very being. Unbeknownst to Luna, this magical dust carried a mysterious enchantment.

In the days that followed, Luna's life changed dramatically. Her once-silver fur darkened into a deep gray, almost black, and her eyes, once sapphire blue, turned the color of the midnight sky. She grew stronger and faster than her peers. But this newfound power came at a great cost.

Luna's parents, guardians of the pack, sensed the eerie transformation in their daughter. They watched in sorrow as her silvery innocence faded, replaced by the eerie gleam of a creature that was both wolf and something more.

One night, when Luna could no longer suppress her urge to explore her newfound abilities, she fled into the moonlit forest. Her parents, grief-stricken yet understanding, let her go, knowing that Luna's destiny was not to be confined within their pack.

As the moon ascended to its zenith, Luna's transformation was complete. Her limbs elongated, and her muscles bulged with newfound strength. Her senses became keener than ever before, and the ancient magic of the moon coursed through her veins.

Yet, even in her newfound power, Luna remained a creature of solitude. She roamed the forest, a solitary sentinel under the moon's gentle glow. Her howls, once filled with the joy of youth, were now haunting cries that echoed through the night.

One moonlit night, Luna's solitary existence was interrupted by a presence she could not ignore. In the depths of the forest, she encountered another wolf, larger and more imposing than any she had ever seen. His fur, black as the night, glistened with the same silvery sheen that Luna had once possessed.

Their eyes met, and in that moment, Luna felt a connection unlike any other. This wolf, it seemed, had also been touched by the moon's magic. He had paid the same price as Luna, trading his former life for the strength of the moon's blessing.

They became companions, understanding each other in a way that no other wolf could. Luna and her newfound friend, now known as Orion, roamed the forest together. Their howls, once solitary cries, now blended in harmony under the moon's embrace.

Luna may have been the loneliest wolf in the world, but in Orion, she found a kindred spirit who shared the same silent pact with the moon. Together, they discovered that their strength came not just from their solitude, but from their unwavering bond and the shared enchantment that bound them to the ever-watchful moon.

Under the canopy of the ancient forest, they were the Silver Wolves, a testament to the price of power, and a reminder that even in the loneliest of existences, there is strength in finding a companion who understands your silent howls.
