Derek Quinn was thinking about Addison Fox again. Addison was a beautiful maiden with a picturesque silhouette and flowing auburn hair.
Derek walked over to the window and reflected on his enchanted surroundings. He had always loved The Snowy Haven, unlike its name it had warm waters and beautiful green hills. It was a place that encouraged a feeling of calmness.
Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the one that his thoughts always wander to. It was the fair maiden Addison Fox.
Derek gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a handsome, admirable, whiskey drinker with rough hands and strong arms. His friends saw him as brute strength, quirky prince. Once, he had even brought a fragile injured bird back from the brink of death.
But not even a strong person who had once brought an injured bird back from the brink of death was prepared for what the day was going to reveal.
The wind roared like an awakened lion from slumber, making Derek worried. Derek grabbed a magic book that had been strewn nearby; he massaged it with his fingers.
As Derek stepped outside and Addison came closer, he could see the magical glint in her eye. Addison gazed with the affection of a thousand angels singing harmonious melodies. She said, in hushed tones, "I have noticed you were in the library admiring the same style readings as I."
Derek looked back, even more, worried and still holding on tightly to the magic book. "Addison, I have adored you for many years," he replied.
They looked at each other with puzzled feelings, like two dancing snowflakes in a wild snowstorm.
Derek admired Addison's picturesque silhouette and flowing auburn hair. "I feel the same way!" revealed Addison with a delighted grin.
Addison looked relieved to finally open up to the man she had been watching and wanted to get close to for months now. Her emotions were on fire as he gently caressed her cheek which sent goosebumps down her spine.
What Addison did not know is Derek’s father was King Ethan. Which made Derek Prince Derek of Snowy Haven. The biggest twist was that neither Derek nor Addison knew that they both possessed rare magic that when combined could bring forth a city that has been lost and forgotten for centuries. The Lost City of Pela.
This city was a thriving population of some of the world’s most powerful magical beings. They harnessed both good and bad energy to make the purest magic. No one really knows what happened to it and how it came to be lost. Legend tells that one day a powerful prince and an enchanted maiden will unit and brings forth the city.
Derek was lost in Addison’s magical eyes and knew right then this was the maiden he was destined to marry. So how would he tell Addison who he was and how was he going to tell his father that he has fallen for a non-royal. There were a lot of questions in Derek’s mind that were hard to answer which made his mind be anywhere but at the moment.
Addison just stood and watched as the emotional ping pong battle went on in Derek’s mind. Little did Addison know what was to come in the latter days.
Addison never knew her family. As far back as she could remember she was orphaned. All she knew was she was left on the steps of a church and was taken in by the Sisters of The Rising Moon. Addison always could feel that there was more out there for her.
Derek stopped the emotional ping pong battle in his head long enough to look up at Addison to see she was looking at him with a curious look. Derek wanted to use this opportunity to spill it all but he held back to leave a little mystery.
Stay tuned to find out what powers lie deep within Addison and when she will find out the secret that Derek is hiding.
