Before the storm, a girl wandered past the trails. Her beagle followed along beside her. She never bellowed anything above a whimper. The girls detour was ended as the rain began to pour. She was lost in the piney wood. She curled up under a tree and fell asleep, stroking the beagle . When dawn broke the rain was a drizzle. The girl was sick. The dog knew she had to help. She threw back her head and bayed. It wasn’t long until someone found the girl. The girl was returned home and the dog was forever her hero.
