I love my wife, but seriously.

"Every day it was something. "Honey, get the kids? Honey, stop at the store, honey, honey, honey?"

My pat answer became, sorry babe, I can't, I'm completely buried at work.

I began ignoring her calls, sending them to VM.

I was sharing a drink with my secretary when I played the message back. "Hey honey, I don't need anything. My mother is coming to stay for a while."

Thank God, I said aloud, just before the blow to my head.

She said, as she shoveled the dirt, "I know, you're buried at work!"
