Life discovered on Mars

Final proof that we are not alone

By Raymond G. TaylorPublished about a year ago Updated 9 months ago 1 min read

08:00 UTC, Elysium Plains, the tiny blue disc of Terra visible just above the rust-colored horizon.

“I think I’ve found it,” I said over the headset, struggling to crouch down in the cumbersome EVA suit. Peering through the visor into a tiny crevice in the rock, I could clearly see the microscopic mollusc-like organisms. Final proof that there was life on Mars. I wished I had a partner here to collect samples.

“Whatcha lookin’ at buddy?”

Looking behind, it wasn’t the voice that startled me, so much as the inquisitive green face and sprawling tentacles of its owner.

That's what you get when you're viewing a world through fossil-eyesed.

Haha, and here they are looking for mollusks, lol. This was a quick one but very interesting. I was ready for more.

One of the first scenes from the first 'Alien' movie. That is what this one reminded me of after I read it. Good work bringing back a very nasty scene.

I adore how absolutely casual the alien is. Made me laugh. Well done :)
