What if you had the choice?

If you could do anything, what would you do? If you could be anyone, who would you be?

In my opinion, these questions can be answered in two ways. One way is that you judge the people who are asking you these questions, analyze the surroundings, occasion and tailor your answer accordingly. Or, you can close your eyes, search within, ask your heart and let it fly like a bird. As it wanders in the endless skies of imagination. Let it figure out what you truly want to do and who you truly want to be.

When I close my eyes, the first thing that I see is Greenery, huge landscapes, flowing rivers, small huts, more like “The Shire” from the movie “The Lord of the Rings”. This may lead to the conclusion that I am a nature lover. Well who isn’t?

Don’t tell me that you don’t feel a sense of calmness and freshness when you are in a place where there is greenery all around you. It is a different feeling altogether when you are amidst nature. You see God’s creation in all its perfection and glory. You realize that everything is moving together in a rhythm without any external disturbance. You hear a harmonious pattern in the sounds of nature. So enough about the background, back to the task at hand.

I want to go on a journey to visit a small, hidden place in the world. Where modernization hasn’t reached yet, where man and nature work harmoniously together to find their place in nature’s hierarchy while not disrupting other creatures and things in it.

I know in today’s day and age, this is a nearly impossible task. I want to travel the ocean on a small boat trying to reach the place where the sun dives into the sea. I know the journey will be hard and there will come a time when I will think about turning back, back to all the luxuries and comfort of home. But the traveler and seeker in me will not let me give up.

I will take whatever hardships and turmoils the ocean will put in front of me, but I will keep moving forward towards my goal. Then on one fateful day, when my boat is stuck on the bank of a small island.

As I lay there on my boat, exhausted. When I will open my eyes, and all the blurriness is cleared. I will see land, surrounded by greenery. Huge trees envelop the sky. The sunlight is filtering through the leaves, creating a pathway to the unknown.

It feels like it is inviting me to follow it with an assurance that I will find what I am searching for inside it. I will surely follow it. When the path is broadened, I will find myself inside a huge field of dandelions.

As I walk through them, they will fly around like small birds and vanish in the sky. As I reach the end of the field I will find a small river flowing beautifully underneath my feet. I will hop on the pebbles to cross it. And I will finally reach there.

Amidst the mountains, small huts, tree houses, and cattle. There are People living the natural way of life, harmoniously to become a part of nature. They don’t want to rule the Earth, they want to take care of it. And I can see that the Earth is taking care of them in return. As I search within myself, I don’t want to ever leave that kind of place. I want to be a part of this harmony.

But as I open my eyes, I see all around me that I am back in this world again. The world that we live in right now. It is all about materialism, and I won’t lie, I am a part of all this too.

But someday, I want to make my own small world, where even technology and nature can coexist together harmoniously. A small hidden place, that when someone comes across it and experiences it, they will get the same feeling as I did when I closed my eyes.

But until that day, It is me signing off.

PS: You can buy me a Ko-Fi if you like.
