Chapter 2 A Prayer For Help
I got so tired of coming to school and seeing kids have nice clothes and shoes. With me being poor, I couldn’t afford any of those things. I just wished I could have money to afford them.
I started crying and fell to my knees in my room with my head bowed down, praying aloud to whoever could hear me, hoping someone could answer my prayers.
Jimmy Prays.
“Whoever is listening right now, I, I give myself up. Please help me. Please.” I continued to shed tears, thinking to myself that no one is going to hear me.
When I took out the trash, I could see a man walking down the street toward me. It was very dark outside, and there was only one street light on at the moment, which was very odd because all the street lights were usually on at that hour.
The man stopped in front of me. I got a cold sensation with goosebumps all over me as he spoke and said “Little boy, I’m sensing something is wrong with you. What might that be, little boy?”
“Sir, I’m very poor. I can’t afford anything, and I’m just tired of living this way,” I said.
“Hmm. I see, little boy, that’s what is troubling you. How about this, little boy? I’ll make a deal with you. You have to say a couple of words, and the deal is yours,” the man offered.
“Sure. Anything, sir,” I replied.
“Say these words, little boy, ‘I give you my mind, body, and shadow,’” the man said.
“Sure, sir. I give you my mind, body, and shadow,” I recited.
“Well done, little boy. When you said that, you gave up your body ,” the man said, starting to grin.
“What now, sir?” I asked. I could see his face was distorted in a smirk of evil. The man turned and walked off. What appeared to be a tail trailed behind him. But since he was dressed in all black and it was so dark outside, it could have been anything.
The man looked back at me with that evil smirk and said, “ Bye, Jimmy boy.”
I stood there and wondered, what the fuck happened all of a sudden, all of the street lights came on.

Chapter 2 NIGHTMARE FLASHBACK
Ahh, waking up grabbing my chest that couldn’t have been real
Thinking to myself, what the hell was that? I had a massive headache, like someone hit my head with a bat. It felt like my head had its own heartbeat, because it was throbbing as well.
Making my way downstairs to go check the mail, when I opened the door, the sun was blazing. Placing my hand in front of my eyes, I stepped onto the porch and tripped over a black bag.
Where the hell did this come from? When looking left and right of the bag, I didn’t see
a name on the outside. It appeared to be a duffle bag, the bag was very heavy when I tried to pick it up.
I decided to drag it into the house. When shutting the door behind me, it felt like someone was watching me. Wondering who just leaves a bag on a doorstep, kneeling down I decide to open it up, unzipping the zipper.
What I found in the bag was money, it was no way for me to count it all. But, just
knowing I will never have to get a job felt amazing. Right when I decided to keep the money, there was a letter inside the bag. It had my name on it. Opening up the letter it said:
Dear Jimmy,
This money in this bag is for you. You won’t ever have to worry about anyone ever making fun of you. You will never be poor as well. Just know that, this money comes with a price of 8 years from now. Enjoy, Jimmy Boy.
Ahh, grabbing my head, I had a flashback of seeing this creepy guy in a black cloak, with glowing eyes and a tail trailing behind him as well. Saying “Goodbye, Jimmy Boy,” with an evil smirk.

Chapter 3 Regret
8 Years later…
Jimmy Boy
I need to hurry up and get to the bank before it closes. Hopefully I can make it on time.
Something doesn’t feel right when catching the subway train.
I was the only one on the train….
As the train started to move, I noticed something outside my window….
A hooded figure dressed in all black, no eyes, just completely featureless, was staring back at me. I froze in fear. I could feel my chest pounding…what…was…that?
As soon as the train stopped, I immediately got off the train.
It was like a ghost town, completely dead silence and dim. As I approached a tunnel, I saw a little boy who seemed to be poor; judging by the clothes he was wearing. He was about maybe 10 years old. His shirt and pants were torn as if a dog attacked him. I looked down, and noticed that he was completely barefoot.
It seemed like he wanted to ask me something, but I just kept on walking.
It was a breeze through the tunnel, the kind of breeze that seems like someone is whistling when the wind is blowing.
Wait…is that the hooded, faceless figure I saw outside the window, earlier on the train?
What the hell… I quickly turned around and I saw it again. This time it came out of the ground. It was about 8 feet tall. Not knowing what to do and nowhere to go, I closed my eyes thinking I was just imagining things. When I opened my eyes, there was nothing there, but I had this feeling down my spleen, like someone was behind me. I turned around, and there it was, the faceless hooded figure. It pointed to me.
I said, “What do you want? Do you know who I am? No, who are you?”
“I’m the Reaper, I’m death, I am who comes and collects souls.”
“So, you’re here for my soul? Why?”
“Do you remember making a deal with someone?”
Flashing back… I replied “yes, I did. It was a random guy. Why?”
“ You made a deal with the devil”
Thinking back, he had a tail for sure. Looking ahead, I could see someone talking to that homeless kid. The man that was speaking to the kid, looked like the same person that spoke to me when I was kid. He looked at me, and gave me a smirk. Yea that’s him, I thought to myself.
I wanted money so badly that I didn’t know that I had sold my soul to the devil. I was so focused on money. I wished I could go back and redo this all over again… but now I’m about to die. This is the price I have to pay.
If I can just save this kid before I go. As I take a step in the kid’s direction, I see the Reaper’s cloak hover over me. The devil was right next to the kid smirking,
“Hey kid, what’s your name?”
“Gabriel”
“Well Gabriel, you don’t want this. Trust me, that man right next to you, whatever he is offering, don’t listen to him, he’s not even human.”
“Huh?” Gabriel asks the man. “Is he telling the truth?”
The man says no and gives a mischievous smile. It was spine crawling, it gave me the chills. Looking at the Reaper, he’s letting me know, my time is up.
“Hey Gabriel, I want to give you something”
“What might that be, sir?”
When Gabriel approached me, I bent down on my knee to him, and gave him my duffle bag that was full of money. I told him “Whatever you do, never ever make a deal with someone you don’t know.”

Please excuse the mistake I made for Chapter 1. The chapter says it's 2, but it's actually Chapter 1. A prayer for help
