"Vampire hunter," the tatted man corrected. He patted the stake at his hip. "I killed one of them with this, you know."
"Right." I checked a box. "And you learned this from-?"
"My father," the man crowed. "But that doesn't matter. I'll surpass him!"
Definitely certifiable. I checked a few more boxes.
The man's knee bounced impatiently. "Aren't you going to ask me how I killed it?" he asked.
"Yes," I said, "but first-"
I leaned forward.
My fangs extended, glinting in the light.
"What makes you think you can kill me?"
