“Desperia,”
“Desperia Cribbe,” Professor Dandrick’s terse voice called curiously from the front-center of the oversized auditorium—a perplexed look across his otherwise boorish face.
“Present,” Desperia replied rather quietly, hoping he’d lose sight of her amidst the voracious chatter filling the room—but it wouldn’t be easy considering her name was usually followed by an assortment of mocking giggles. She was after-all the closest thing to a red-headed step-child.
“I know you are present my dear-child, were you not paying attention? Please step to the front of the room. The lesson has begun, hope you prepared…”
