“Ok, so then what do I do?” Cora eyes her brother.

“You’re the lookout, so you lookout and make sure we don’t get caught.”

“But what do I do if I see something?”

“Say the password.”

“Right, the password. Um, what’s the password again?”

“Cora!”

“I’m sorry, I just want to do good.”

Johnny sighs. She’s right. A lot is riding on this.

“The password is blueberries.”

“Blueberries. Got it.”

The pair slinks down the staircase leading into a dark tiled room. A faint light eaking out from behind the door down the hall.

“Give me a boost.” Johnny whispers.

“I thought I was the lookout, not the booster.” Cora whines.

“Just do it!”

Cora hoists Johnny up and he edges to the far cabinet.

“Jackpot. Quick, Cora!”

They both plunge their hands into the jar, when they hear a door creek open.

“Run!” Johnny shouts.

They scurry upstairs and into their beds, throwing the covers over their heads.

The light flicks on. Soft footsteps get closer and closer when suddenly the blankets are tossed off and their mother catches them enjoying their bounty – double chocolate chip cookies.
