INNOCENT LOVE

TRUST AND CONFESSIONS PT. 2

By Clarence BoxPublished 4 years ago 12 min read

Brown walked back to his office. Boston said, “Good job warden!” We got her now! Let’s wait for about a half hour, then I’ll make my presence known. Brown asked Boston, “How long have you been doing this?” Boston replied, “I’ve been doing this for a little over 14 years. I have been commemorated many times for bravery, courage, saving lives, many metals, and over 300 criminals caught dead or alive.” That is an amazing record. Do you have a woman or companion in your life? Yes I do. We have been married 7 years now. Congratulations! Is she able to handle the fact about your job duties? Yes! Will we have a chance to meet her? Yes, you will later on! She’s going to come here and help out with the case. We’ll have all the information we need on her. I made a vow to uphold the law, enforce the law, and take down all the criminals who disobey the law. It’s not the easiest job to do; but anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it. Now with that being said, let’s get the party started with Cheyanne. Boston was fully dressed like a cardinal priest and started walking towards Cheyanne’s cell.

Boston saw her and said, “Good morning ma’am! How are you doing today?” Cheyanne replied, “Do I know you?” No, you don’t know me, but I can see your life is in danger. How exactly do you know that? You don’t know shit about me. Your name is Cheyanne Gardner, 27 years old, formally married to Alex Monroe, and now a widow. Interesting! You know a little something about me! Now, who the hell are you? I’m Cardinal Nathaniel Masolina and a lawyer. Are you fucking serious...a lawyer? There’s no way on earth a cardinal priest or any religious leader can be a lawyer. Is this a fucking joke? It’s true and no joke! I was a lawyer before converting over to God. As I got settled in with the religious aspect, I asked for a little leeway to still perform my duties as a lawyer and cardinal. How did you get them to grant you rights of still being a lawyer? I told them we are on this earth of saving lives of others who choose to do so. As a lawyer, that’s what I did and never lost a case. I have plenty of clients especially in the prisons. Would you like to see my credentials? If you’re willing to show me them, then yes! Here you go! Wait a minute...it says you are authorized by Judge Reynolds. Yes ma’am! Do you know him? I had seen him briefly. He once told me that there’s an ace lawyer who can help out with any issues. Are you the one he was talking about? Yes I am! I can help you out if you will allow me to do so. I have helped many people in here and other places who really wanted to change their lives. Some prisoners chose to remain the way they are. So what do you want me to do? Whatever you are going through at this time, all I need for you is to tell me your whole story from start to the present. Don’t leave anything out because the slightest bit of information left out, can jeopardize your chances of clearing your name and being released from prison. This is how I help others by gathering all information, present it to the judge, and people are free from prison. Wow, that simple, huh? Yes it’s that simple! All you need to do is tell the truth. Here...take a look at this book! In this book, you see every former criminal I’ve helped before. Every once and a while, I give a call to former criminals to see how they are doing. There are so many in this book. How many? 400. I keep pictures of each individual and say prayers to all. Prayer is always needed every day and night, because the enemy can strike anytime. That is lots of people you’ve saved! Great accomplishment! Indeed. How can I trust you with my life? Tell me. I don’t have any cameras on me, because they check people before allowing permission to come inside the facility. Now, I can have it to the point where we can talk mono y mono. How so? There’s so many cameras around this place. I will have authorized personnel remove the cameras away from our area. What...impossible? Nothing is impossible, all things are possible. Oh, I got to see this with my own eyes. I do believe in confidentiality. I will keep that in mind. Officer, can you have Warden Brown to come here to this cellblock? Yes sir! Warden Brown walked to her cellblock and Cardinal Masolina asked, “Can I have these cameras around her area removed?” What? Cardinal, she is dangerous and cannot be trusted at all! We have to keep eyes on her all times. There’s no need for that! I will not allow it. Warden Brown, you do understand my authority here and the belief on which I stand on. You can be easily removed from your position immediately. Do you understand me? Yes sir! I want to consult with Cheyanne in private. Please respect my wishes and let me talk to her one on one. Okay sir, no problem! Moments later, authorized personnel removed any cameras from the area. Thank you gentlemen! No problem sir! That’s shocking! Not really. As I stated before, “Nothing is impossible and all things are possible.” Damn cardinal, that authority talk you did with the warden turned me on! I like that kind of shit! Alright cardinal, I am going to hold you to that saying, “Nothing is impossible and all things are possible.” You know cardinal, I still think about the days, spending time with my mom and my friends before they left for college. Crystal is my best friend and I really missed her so much. It almost seemed like you two were lovers. What if we were lovers padre? You know that is a sin. You’re right padre...it is a sin! I’m not into fucking the same gender. I like dick too much! Okay, that’s good to know! My mom had a little talk with me before I left for L.A. By me being the only child in her life, it was difficult to let me go. She told me, “Don’t get into trouble, be careful, stay focused, respect each other, and learn how to love one another. I will miss you most of all. You’re my only daughter and I want you to be happy.” I am a happy mom! I promise to stay out of trouble. I love you mom! I love you too baby! She gave me a big hug and shed many tears. Where’s your mom now? Dead! Dead? How did she die? I killed her for lying to me. Why did you do that? In due time, you will have the answer. Before we go on, How can you help me? How can you possibly help a person accused of murder? In order for that to happen, you have to understand the mind of a killer. Well Ms. Gardner, as a matter of fact I do understand the mind of a killer. I was once a killer myself before I changed my life around. Oh really! Interesting! I really would like to know what happened to you in your past life. I will agree to tell you my story of how I got into this situation. I need to hear your story first. You want me to be able gain your trust, then I want to know how you became a killer. One thing I ask is that you don’t lie to me. Please don’t that! I can smell and sense a lie a mile away. Fair enough.

I never knew who my parents were. I raised in an adoption center since I was little. At age 6, a couple took me in as their own and raised me till my graduation. They were murdered one year after I was in college. I was left all alone again. It wasn’t easy going to college and dealing with the deaths of my parents at the same time. I finished college with a law degree and worked at a law firm. After a couple of years working there, I started my own practice and became well known for my services. I was dating at the time and engaged a few years later. One night I was walking about minding my own business and three dudes tried to rob me. They couldn’t get the job done. I didn’t know there were people looking while all this was taking place. I was recruited in this gang called Hell’s Tyranny. The head of this gang, Rage, was wanted all over the country. No law enforcement ever found him or could get the goods on their crew. He wanted me to join because of my fighting and stealth skills. After serving him for over 10 years, I have disposed of certain people he wanted gone. He paid me a great amount of money for any job I had to do. No one ever saw the bodies again. I’ve killed so many people and lost count. It’s well over 500. One day, I told the gang leader that I’m done doing this kind of work. I wanted to settled down and begin a family with my wife. I left despite on what they warned me about my life. One day while I was at work, I got a call from the police telling me to come home immediately about a certain situation. When I arrived home, my wife was laying down in our living room gunned down by those bastards. There signs were left everywhere around my house. I was deeply hurt. I fell into a black hole of depression. I moved away for a long time to mourn my wife’s death. After grieving for so long, I got vengeance on all of them and led the police to where they were located. I sat on the porch with guns beside me and pictures of everyone I killed. Police was driving by and stopped in front of my house. They got out the car and walked towards me, looking at every piece of evidence I did to others. I paid the price for all the crimes I’ve committed. They sentenced me to life in prison. I didn’t care really because there was nothing left to live for. A priest came by and talked to me many times. He saved my life after serving 12 years in prison. I joined the priesthood and devoted my life to God. Cardinal Rainer died a few years after my release from prison. Nine years I’ve helped or tried to help others. Now I’m here with you trying to save another life from being sentenced for a long time.

That is heavy and deeply sad. I am terribly sorry for your loss. I know that wasn’t easy to overcome. No, it isn’t easy to overcome someone’s death you close too. It’s hard sometimes to stay calm and not lose hope; but God’s comfort helps me out every day. Now, back to you Ms. Gardner, do you still want my assistance? Can I have a little time to think about it? Sure. Have you had breakfast yet? No. I know this one place like a kitchen diner that has good food. Would you like some breakfast from there? They make you anything of your desire. I would like a veggie omelet with hash browns and coffee. Sugar and cream? Yes! If they have French vanilla cream, I would like that instead. Okay! I’ll put the order in and have an officer to bring the food to you. Thank you! Not a problem Ms. Gardner! You can call me Cheyanne! Okay I will! Boston left her presence and returned back to the warden’s office.

Brown spoke to Boston saying, “You are really good at what you do just as Monroe mentioned.” Boston replied, “Indeed sir!” We have established confidence and trust between us. There’s no doubt in mind that she will accept my help. We will get all the evidence we need to convict her of all crimes. It’s always good to have patience! Thirty minutes later, the delivery driver arrived at the gate with the food. The correction officer received the food and did a quick inspection making sure no signs of any suspicious activity was involved. Everything was cleared and brought the food to the office. They took their food and Boston told the correction officer to make sure she received this cigarette. Yes sir! The correction officer did as he was told and gave Cheyanne the cigarette.

Cheyanne asked the correction officer, “Who gave me this cigarette which is the right kind I smoke?” Cardinal Masolina! Really? Yes! Please tell him “Thank you.” While Cheyanne ate her food and smoked a cigarette, the fellas were having a conversation amongst each other.

Brown asked Boston, “How do you plan on getting all the information now that we gained her trust?” He replied, “Now that her trust is won slightly, she’s not going to resist as much.” Cheyanne is really not a bad person. She was just caught up in greed and a cheating man who betrayed her trust. What makes it really bad is the fact she’s never been in love before with someone till then. When she found out Alex was having an affair with another woman, while being married, is degrading and caused deep hurt. That’s why some women are scorned and scarred. Those painful feelings never go away easily.

Brown said, “You’re right about that, Boston!” I went through the same experience with my wife. Years and patience for her walls to breakdown; but the wait was definitely worth it. I love her too much to end something beautiful between us. Boston replied, “That's excellent!” I’m very glad to hear that you took the time to comfort your wife through hard times. I know she’s grateful for you hanging in there with her through it all.

Brown asked Monroe, “Did you ever have someone in your life or been married before?” Monroe responded, “I was never married.” I met a woman two years after my business grew larger. She got pregnant and Alex arrives nine months later. I tried to work it out with her; but all she wanted was money. I had full custody of my son and never saw her again. Ten days later, on the news, she died on an overdose of heroine. That is terrible. Yes indeed!

Thirty-five minutes later, a correction officer knocked on the office door and Brown told him to come inside. Yes officer! U.S. Marshal Madison, Cheyanne wants to see you! Alright! Brown and Monroe, watch and listen to the conversation that is about to occur. We are on it. Okay officer let’s go! Boston asked the correction officer, “Can you open her cell and place my chair inside?” Yes sir! Thank you, officer, you lock the cell and stand outside till I say otherwise! Yes sir! Hello Cheyanne, we meet again for another session. Did you enjoy your meal and cigarette? Why are you treating me so nice, considering the fact I’m in prison? Well, just because you’re in prison, doesn’t mean you have to be treated like an animal. You are a human, not an animal. Everybody has done wrong and paid a price for their crimes; but not everyone feels guilty about what they did. What do you mean by that? Some people are just stone-cold with no heart and no kind of feelings whatsoever. Now back to the question I’ve asked you, “How was your meal and cigarette?” I enjoyed my breakfast and cigarette. Thank you for asking! You’re welcome! What did you call me in here for? I’ve decided to take you on as my lawyer. Wise decision. Is there anything you need to do before we get started? Yes, we do! What would that be? Do you know what a blood oath is, Cardinal Masolina? Yes, I do! We are going to do one different. Cheyanne made a slight cut on her hand. Let’s shake on it! He did so. Now we’ve got that part settled, I’m trusting you with my life, Masolina. No problem! You have my word. The reason why I asked you tell me your story is on the lines of relating to one another. I feel more comfortable talking with someone who has killed people before just like I did. For those who have never committed murders cannot relate to me. That person tries so hard to be your friend and say things like “I know how you feel” when in essence they don’t know shit. They don’t know how the person feels at all. It’s just all fucking lies! I need someone who is going to be all the way 100% with me or don’t talk at all. I understand completely! Where do you want me to start? Well, I know for a fact Alex committed infidelity, which made you change face turning into something you’re not. Let us start at the beginning on how you met him and led you out here to Los Angeles. Fair enough!
