June sat on a bench stationed against a big nim tree in the green grass field beside her house near the small garden admiring the scenery. Accompanied by the sound of cars passing by and people walking home dressed in their finest attires returning from church while exchanging greeting with her neighbors and people they meet along the way including Mrs. Salomé a small shop owner opposite her house. She was also dress in a nice attire and had just arrived from church. Mrs. Salomé spotted her and greeted; shouting from across the street, Juliana how are you?

i am fine, thank you and you? (June replies to her). "i am also fine. greet your mother for me okay". Mrs. Salomé answers back.

okay ma; i will June replies back.

June continues eating her fried yam and chicken while looking at the butterflies in the small garden in her house. Her small cat "snow" was rubbing itself against her leg in a 'to and fro' manner also started meow-ing as soon as she started eating.

Gimme some. Gimme some; June muttered if a voice as if she was trying to mimic the cat but with human language.

I will give you fried yam first. If you agree to eat it then I will give you some of my two chickens. June said to her cat, snow reluctantly.

meow, Snow replied.

i'll accept it. that's probably what you are saying. Because you cannot be asking for my chicken just like that. it won't work. June said afterwards. She then proceeds to give the cat some of her fried yam to which the cat starts eating as if it hadn't had any food in days. After the cat finishes with what she gave, it asks for more. June adds some more yam with sauce and then tells the cat to wait till she is done eating before she gives it some of the sausage and two chickens.

After eating, she keeps to her words and feed the cat some of the meat. she goes to wash her hands at the standpipe and returns back to her bench.

Upon returning to the bench, Snow start meowing and licking the edge of the bottle water she left on the bench and she pours the water from her bottle to snow's bowl. She looks over to the garden and sees so many butterflies and then looks back at snow. she realizes that the butterflies have slowly started flying towards snow and it starts chasing them. she runs after snow, catches it and rubs its fur.

'Why do you smell like the flowers? She asks. Just then a blue butterfly lands on one of snow's paw. it tried to catch it with the same paw prompting the insect to fly away. June laughs at the cat and says to it: I thought you were smart. "Like how will you catch a butterfly like that?" and puts it down and sits down as well. she calls the cat, and the butterflies also move towards her. two butterflies land on her skirt and one on her cat who was struggling to stay still in June hands. stop trying to catch them. An instruction from June which never reached snow's cat ears. She goes to sit on the grass at the other side of the grass fields where sunflowers and some other colorful plants grew and suddenly a small group of hummingbirds approach her each landing on a plant. they each start singing in a harmonious tune. This attracts the attention of her cat. Snow starts moving at a specific angle with a target at a soft and slow pace.

You think you are smart. June says after spotting snow. she observes the event unfold. Snow finally reaches the birds where June is sitting, and every time snow tries to catch one bird; it flies up. Just a little above snow's fixed target. and land on a different plant. the repeated process send snow directly on June's head where one bird lands. June's laughter turns to anger and disbelief. She was about to give Snow a beating of a lifetime for scratching her finger when her mother interrupts; Juliana why were you laughing? and have you finished eating? She stops in her tracks only to realise it was all in her imagination.

I was laughing at snow. the way it was chasing the grasshoppers and the butterflies which came at it from the garden is funny. she replies to her mother with a little bit embarrassment.
