Another one about OCD

I bumped into a wall.

My mind violently promised:

If you don’t pat it in the same spot… it will go up in flames.

I check my car is locked once, twice. On the millionth time I still question myself.

If you don’t go back and check again… someone will rob you.

There are certain words that feel like a sin to read or hear or think.

If you don’t picture your mind being meticulously disinfected…

I have to pronounce the letter ’n’ right, but only in a specific word.

If I don’t… if I don’t… if I don’t.

An "n", so oft so hard to find. And what shall we do then but bend or end in some twisted state of paralysis.

Good work Poppy! OCD is hard. I subscribe to it myself although my version doesn’t require meticulous cleaning.
