If It Were You

The choice isn’t theirs. It’s yours.

A world was born,

Amoebas were introduced,

And then the industrial revolution came along.

Everybody believes this gets us to evolution and possibly also absolution.

We invented steam trains to help us travel

And this seems marvelous,

However, families are now designed to be more scattered.

What used to matter to us,

no longer exists

The anthropological need for community tribes that should be part of our need for survival

For wisdom, stories, as well as tales of our past glory.

But we are supposed to be able to gather

With mother and father,

With friends, to laugh and make amends,

To hold, hug, and support.

We can't be told

This is how A.I. began.

We built a computers splendid to the likes of Amstrad and Sony,

And now we are terribly lonely.

When we stare into our screens, what does this mean?

We are supposed to connect,

But have wrecked

That which we love.

And we have done brilliant things,

We have science to thank for penicillin,

And the telephone,

So we could speak with someone who wasn't in our home.

It's truly a miraculous thing

Hearing the telephone ring

Yet we cannot see into that person's eyes

And witness where their heart resides

Humans are creative.

We desire everything to be terrific.

Yet why do we have to conquer space,

When we cannot tidy and clean our own place

To be organized,

Clean.

We are so mean,

To one another,

The earth

Animals

Nature.

Why can't we nurture,

What is around us?

Why do we damage that which surrounds us?

We cut down the plants and trees,

We remove the habitats for the bees

And the poor hedgehogs can not live and breathe

Or breed, or feed,

Why can't we just leave

Well alone?

We capture,

We use and desecrate,

We create new methods of hate

Like hitler, or putin, and now trump,

What a chump

What a way to dump

All the things we should be fighting for

By having to be held to ransom in some major bully we abhore

We literally destroy ourselves.

We are not reliable helpers

The globe is in despair

Why did we have to take our care?

We should reflect the Aborigine tribes

They eschew mockery and subscribe

To the ‘utilitarianism’ we still now take

And make everything fake

What the hell have we got a Kardashian for?

More importantly why is the Machiavellian behind doors?

Real tribes are sustainable

And only take what they are able

Then they are careful, you heed

To give back admiring nature's orders.

That we will soon be at our last

Our days on earth are in the past

Time, space and everything

And everything we need (or THINK we need) it speed too

But there is a rate to bend

To contemplate

The end of this world because...

Suddenly god claps his hands in derision,

And gives you a decision

YOU decide right now!

YOU are now God, so have a deep think

Do we let the world sink sink

And let humankind's evil dark curtain

Let it sink away to the universe,

What recognize was YOU?

Will you witness every body you were stolen?

Or flip the re-set gear momentum,

Do we start the earth up again?

Ministers men to and can we reproduce oblivion,

That would BE YOU!
