After hearing Jess's last words, Caro slowly returned to her place on the bench and picked up her book once again, not knowing where to begin from. All she wanted to do was to think and talk about everything, so she called Clark and told him she needed to see him and talked to him now. It took a couple of minutes before his reply came.

"Alright. Where should I meet you then?" he asked, sounding pretty worried. "I mean... where should we actually meet up? Should I come here...?"

She bit her lip and stared outside, thinking about what her answer should be. Should she tell him that she wanted him to come here or somewhere else? They might be able to avoid getting caught if they meet in public. However, they could also be overheard if they tried to hide somewhere else and there weren't as many people in that area. Finally, she settled for the coffee shop near the park where she often met Clark during lunch hours.

"I'll meet you at that coffee shop across the street from the school," she decided as she pointed a finger at the location she specified. "The same one we always use."

"OK, I'll meet you there shortly" he replied and then hung up. Caro set her phone down on the bench and looked up into the sky once again. She felt a strange feeling suddenly grow inside her, and she couldn't put her finger on what exactly it was but she felt uneasy. As she continued watching the clouds, she felt someone sit down beside her. Looking around, she noticed that it was just Lexa sitting there with a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Hi," Caro murmured, glancing sideways at the brunette.

"Hi. Are you alright?" Lexa inquired, tilting her head to the side a tiny bit.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

She didn't sound too convinced. "Are you sure?" she asked gently.

Caro nodded. "Yes... I am..." she replied honestly, glancing away from her and looking back out into the distance. A few seconds later though, she spoke again, "Actually... you were right. About me and Clark."

Lexa frowned in confusion. "About which part? The part about being wary of him or-"

"Both... Both at once..." she interrupted her.

Lexa stayed quiet for a moment while giving her a confused look. After taking a second to recover, she started speaking again, trying to make sense of what she said. "What exactly happened between you and Clark? Did he push you around or something?" she asked curiously.

" You know, there's this girl that messaged him once while we were together. Her name is Lisa but now that I think about it, it kind of sounds like Lexa," Caro said as she let out a bitter laugh. "When you told me to be wary of him, I should have taken your advice not just wary of him but wary of friends, friends like you that are backstabbers," she added, raising her voice a little.

Lexa furrowed her eyebrows and stared at her friend. "Huh?" she uttered, clearly taken aback. "Who do you mean, backstabbers?" she asked, sounding hurt.

Caro turned to look at her and frowned deeply. "Oh, please don't act all innocent Lexa. You know what I meant. Don't try to play dumb with me..." she muttered angrily.

Lexa let out a soft sigh and shook her head lightly. "I don't understand why you keep saying that Caro."

"Don't play innocent with me, Lexa!" she yelled. "You know exactly what I'm talking about... And you're doing a good job hiding behind denial and acting like nothing ever happened!" she continued with tears forming in her eyes.

"I'm sorry Caro, I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe I miscommunicated and made a mistake?" Lexa suggested hopefully, placing both of her hands in front of her pleadingly.
