His Excellent Effort
A luge athlete does the most.
There was no room for error in the luge. It was all about perceiving the next turn and knowing when to turn.
With each shift, he ensured that he would be taken to another place within the confined space. He felt like his body had melded to the sled and that he could have the best time.
He won gold as he passed the record by six tenths of a second.
His blackness didn’t mean anything but his talent sure did. He kept this in mind as the crowd cheered and hooted in support of his excellent efforts. He smiled.
