HEART BROKEN

It was a typical summer day. The sun was beaming. Waves crashed against the shore. Children played in the water as their parents sat and gossiped on the in the sand. The day seemed so normal as everyone went on with their daily lives and routines.

Until suddenly, EVERYTHING went black. Planes crashed! Cars collided! Everyone was sent into a panic as they would soon realize that this was the worst day for humanity. Everyone was in the dark going into a frenzy until suddenly a beam of light reigning down from the sky stopped everyone in their tracks. The light was so bright it rivaled the sun. But there was nothing bright about what was to come. A huge figure descended from this beam of light creating an eclipse of some sort.

When the light faded away it would reveal a broken heart shaped locket. The locket would proceed to let out a soft cry heard around the world. People from all countries gazed in amazement as they if they were stuck in a trance for this was the most beautiful sound they had ever heard. Little did they know that this was the cry of Mother Nature. This was the cry of a Mother Nature who has watched her beloved children destroy and defile her very being.

She was on the brink of death and had a very tough decision to make. Of course she loved her children but she could not stand by and let them continue on their course. Many of her plants and animals have suffered at the hands of humans and something must be done.

The cry faded away then immediately all seven continents started to gravitate toward the broken heart locket. This would recreate a land mass that was formerly known in the past as Pangaea. The locket would then go on to create a barrier around New Pangaea made from an unknown material known to man.

Although mankind still had some left over technology left, nothing they used could even come close to destroying this barrier. Then, what would erupt from the depths of the ocean would be a new land mass similar in size to New Pangaea.

All of humanity were stuck in amazement as this new land arose but this would be the least of their problems. A timer suddenly appears above the broken heart locket counting down from 365 days. Mother Earth has gone into a recycling mode filtering out everything and it takes a full year to complete. Will humanity use this time wisely or will they succumb to their imperfect ways?

Months went by and the human race hadn't made much progress. A few nations have decided to ally in order to figure out a solution to the disaster they were in but many different nations could not fathom the thought of having to share land and resources certain other countries. This in turn sent many people into war with each other.

Many people began to worship the locket seeing it as a test of faith. Some even saw it has a blessing from Mother Earth herself. All hope seems to be lost and some have even come to accept their fate. That is all but a lone scientist, Dr. Zuni - A small but rather intimidating young woman who sports a huge lab coat and heart shaped locket passed down through her family's generations.

She was an unenthusiastic environmentalist disappointed in the human race. Dr. Zuni has devoted her life to healing the earth through a project she runs called C.U.R.E.(Committee United to Rehabilitate Earth). Until now her project has been given little to no funding but in the wake of recent

events Project CURE has gained massive support from major corporations giving her just the resources she needs to become the hero of mankind.

As the days count down humanity's fate seems all but sealed and there seems to be more questions arising than answers. More and more people are losing hope. Dr. Zuni works tirelessly looking for a solution to what appears to be impending doom. The very fate of mankind is on her shoulders for she is the last remaining hope.
