The sun was setting over the deserted town of Millfield, and the wind was howling through the abandoned streets. The few remaining buildings were boarded up, and the sound of creaking wood echoed in the eerie silence. There were no lights on in any of the buildings, except for one.

In the middle of the town square, stood an old and worn-down mansion. Its windows were lit up, casting an orange glow onto the surrounding area. The mansion was rumored to be haunted, but for a group of thrill-seekers, that was precisely what they were looking for.

The group consisted of four people - Jack, Sarah, Tom, and Lisa. They were all in their early twenties and had a passion for adventure. Jack was the leader of the group, and he had heard about the mansion from a friend who claimed to have seen ghosts in there. Jack had convinced the others to join him on this daring adventure.

As they approached the mansion, they could hear strange noises coming from inside. Jack led the way, and they all followed closely behind him. He opened the creaky front door, and they stepped inside. The entrance hall was grand, with a sweeping staircase and ornate decor. However, the air was thick with the smell of decay and mold.

Suddenly, a loud crash came from upstairs, and they all froze. Jack turned to the others and signaled for them to follow him. They began to ascend the stairs, and as they got higher, the noises became louder. They reached the top of the staircase and turned left, following the sound. They came to a door, and Jack slowly pushed it open.

Inside the room, they saw a ghostly figure standing in the middle of the room. It was transparent, and its eyes glowed red in the dim light. The figure turned towards them, and they could see its mouth open, but no sound came out. The group was frozen with fear, not knowing what to do next.

Suddenly, the figure vanished, and the room became pitch black. The group was disoriented, and they stumbled around, trying to find their way out. Suddenly, they heard a voice calling out to them. It was a woman's voice, and it sounded like she was in distress.

They followed the voice and came to a room at the end of the hallway. They pushed the door open, and inside, they saw a young woman tied up in chains. She was covered in bruises, and her eyes were pleading for help.

The group rushed over to her, and Jack began to undo the chains. Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind them, and they heard a lock turn. They were trapped.

They tried to open the door, but it was no use. They were stuck in the room with the young woman, and they had no idea how to get out. As they searched for a way to escape, they heard a noise coming from the other side of the room. It was a scratching noise, like something was trying to get in.

They turned around, and they saw a rat crawling through a hole in the wall. Suddenly, they realized that the hole was their way out. They began to break away the plaster, and soon they had made a hole big enough for them to crawl through.

They crawled through the hole, and they found themselves in a hidden passageway. It was dark, and they could barely see, but they knew they had to keep moving. They followed the passageway until they came to a dead end. There was a small room at the end, and they could see a light coming from underneath the door.

Jack pushed the door open, and they stepped inside. They were in a small laboratory, and in the middle of the room, they saw a strange machine. It
