“It’s National Illumination Day,” Silas whispered excitedly—"the festival starts today and you know what that means!”
“Celebration starts at Nightfall?” Cassie replied hesitantly— “You don’t usually get excited about these random holidays, it’s not like we celebrate.”
“No, of course not but rules say when a festival falls on Friday we get the entire weekend off...more time to explore the Caves?”
Silas was right.
The draw was hard to ignore; few students had ever lived to see the lucent purple pools—a place where water wasn’t actually water.
“We have to be careful, you know what happened last time…”
