Goddess Wish Granted

Forgot the Promise

By Mystery WorldPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a temple dedicated to the Kali goddess. The villagers believed that the goddess could grant wishes, and they often visited the temple to offer their prayers and make offerings.

One day, a group of people visited the temple to seek the Kali's blessings. Among them was a young man named Rajesh. He had come to the temple to pray for his wife's speedy recovery. She had been ill for a long time, and despite his efforts, her health had only worsened.

As Rajesh was praying, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. He looked around but found no one. He shrugged it off and continued his prayers. When he opened his eyes, he saw a beautiful woman standing in front of him. She had long hair, piercing eyes, and a mesmerizing smile.

"Who are you?" Rajesh asked, startled.

"I am the Kali," she replied. "I have heard your prayers, and I am willing to grant you a wish."

Rajesh was overjoyed. He asked the Kali to heal his wife, and the goddess promised to do so. However, she warned him that every wish had a price. If he wanted his wish to come true, he would have to offer something in return.

Rajesh agreed to the Kali's condition and left the temple. The next day, he found that his wife had indeed recovered. He was grateful to the Kali and decided to offer her something in return. He went back to the temple and asked the Kali what she wanted.

The Kali asked for a lock of Rajesh's wife's hair. Rajesh was hesitant, but he agreed to the request. He cut a lock of his wife's hair and brought it to the Kali. The goddess accepted the offering and disappeared.

Days passed, and Rajesh forgot about the Kali's warning. However, strange things began to happen in the village. People reported seeing a woman with long hair wandering around the temple at night. Some even claimed to have seen the Kali in their dreams, asking for offerings.

Rajesh became increasingly paranoid. He feared that the Kali was angry with him for not offering enough. One night, he went to the temple alone to offer his prayers. As he was leaving, he heard a faint whisper behind him.

"Rajesh," the voice said. "You promised to offer me something in return. You have not fulfilled your promise."

Rajesh turned around but saw no one. He began to run, but the voice followed him. He heard the Kali's laughter, and he knew that he was being pursued.

He reached his house and locked the door. But the Kali's laughter echoed through the house. He saw her in every corner, in every shadow. He could not escape her.

Days passed, and Rajesh became a recluse. He stopped leaving his house and stopped talking to anyone. He saw the Kali everywhere, and her voice haunted him.

One day, Rajesh's wife found him dead in his house. His eyes were open, and his face was frozen in fear. The villagers buried him, but they knew that the Kali had claimed another victim.

From that day on, the temple was abandoned. People feared the Kali, and they avoided the temple at all costs. The Kali remained a legend, a story passed down from one generation to the next. But some say that on quiet nights, you can still hear her laughter echoing through the village, a reminder of her power and her wrath.
