Reader, https://shopping-feedback.today/writers/tales-from-beyond-the-haunted-letter-challenge

I penetrate your body and soul with the cold mists of the morning and evening fog. As light fades, I stop new growth. I move through the trees of life and wisdom, with my vaporous scythe, removing leaves and anything in my path. Your turn will come. I am forever near, prepared to strike down you, and those you love. I carry the chill of death, of what was and what will be. You dare say foo.

During the full moon of October, glowing ghost lights, Naga fireballs, are emitted from phosphine swamp gases along the Mekong River. The great balls of fire that come from and return to the earth and the universe are predictable in many strata of matter. Since the days of Middle English, these were Bogeyman demons, frightening children into good behavior.

Allied aircraft pilots of the 415 Night Squadron in Western Europe during World War 2, described bright red, orange or green UFO's. They were ‘Foo fighters". Foo could maneuver more than St. Elmo’s fire, a discharge of light from hitting sharp objects and ice crystals in electrical fields. The military, described bogeys as unidentified flying objects or radar targets , a 'frightening specter' or 'terror', likely a result of nuclear fallout, over Paradise Ranch Area 51, los Alamos around Roswell.

The Chinese revere Foo dogs, calling them Shishi, Stone dogs and Pixiu, the ninth offspring of the dragon. They are found as a pair. The male on the right, represents the yang. It leans its paw on a ball embroidered with the flower of life and protects the female on the left, representing yin. Her job is to restrain her playful cubs and to hunt. With wide bulging eye, bared fangs, graceful hind legs and flaring tufts of mane and tail, the Foo possess mystical powers and guard the entrance ways to buildings and homes.

The foo lions, the progeny of the Naga dragons, act as protector of the dharma, the moral responsibility and duties of gods and goddesses. Their roar, the dhamma, holds the power of cosmic law and order.

An unknown source warns: Allow none of foo, one of foo or any number of foo. This is a rule of thumb in software design (where Foo is a placeholder): do not place random limits of the number of instances of a given entity.

This October, 2025, the stars Fu (Fortune) Lu (Prosperity) and Shou (Longevity) shine in Orion as the Orionid and Taurid meteor showers are joined by Comet Swan R2 and Comet Lemmon that will lay a swath across the dark night sky. This happened many lifetimes ago, in 629, when Byzantium reconquered Jerusalem.

Be prepared. Change happens. I, the capricious Boogeyman will appear and might set the bar with Fu, the Chinese God of good fortune, or things might become Fubar, an acronym from the military, which stands for a situation "fucked up beyond all repair".
