Friend to Time
A man wins a chance to experience time travel.
“I said I won,” Garson Bartham remarked quietly. His wife pounced on him. It was a ticket into the future for two. She kissed his beard.
“We’re going to experience something we’ve never had the chance to do. Go on a nuclear powered spacecraft and actually bend time,” Kalinta Bartham said.
“We’re going to have the ability to deal with the consequences.”
“Like what?”
“Time dilation, muscular atrophy, paralysis, organ failure among other conditions,” Bartham said.
“I don’t want to go,” she said.
“That’s fine. I can find another woman. It won’t be difficult at all. I’ll fly with her.”

Part 1 My intentions have always been good. Suddenly something happened that made me start doing things I wouldn’t ever do. Like, I took up smoking again after ten years. This is awful. Why do I do this shit? I know it’s no good for me. I take a long drag off my cigarette. I am so pissed. Smoking helps; I guess. I have put with this for far too long.
