I look at Fry and it’s like he’s dumbstruck and frozen. What’s wrong with him? He looks utterly terrified to speak. I move in closer and start talking for him, my anger coming up.

“Ugh! Fry, really! You’re ridiculous. Why aren’t you talking?! I just… You actually went to buy her… daffodils?! Really?” I stomp a bit on the ground. “She isn’t even… why do you keep trying to be with her?”

Fry smiles suddenly, looking like a light bulb finally went on—-and then he suddenly moves in closer to me.

“It’s not Leela… I got something to tell you..” Fry says in a sensual way, “Come closer.”

I move in closer and suddenly his hand moves in around my waist, pulling me close, and I can’t even put the motion together before his hot breath hits my mouth, and I gasp a little.

He slowly hands me the flowers, placing it to my chest softly, and he whispers, “This is for you. I bought these daffodils for you. Because I know..” he moves in even closer, and the cool, bright night air hits us in a swift breeze. I feel it run through me with the intense heat he’s pushing into me. “You like them.

His whisper cuts through my doubt like a knife, and my heart is fluttering.

Then, he does something else and I can’t even comprehend it until after he is done.

He kisses my cheek, so softly, so sweetly and I feel like I’m swooning… it’s magical. Is this what being a human feels like?

Is it magic? Is it stardust?

I think it’s that I am going crazy.

“Fry… what? You.. you aren’t lying?”

“I didn’t buy them for anyone but you, Bender.. I swear.” Fry sighs. “And I didn’t ask her out, I … I actually told her we shouldn’t date.”

“No way. You turned her down?” I feel shock as he nods.

“Yes. I did.”

I’m holding onto the bouquet as he moves back a few steps.

He looks calm and direct, but red in the face, and I ask, “Why?”

“I know I believed Leela was the one for me… all this time. But… I think we’re different. And we don’t fit.”

“But, opposites attract, right?” I don’t even understand why I’m arguing in favor of something that would devastate me—-but I feel it’s because I… I do love him, and I want him to be happy to be with me. Not as a second choice.

I want him to want me.

“Not this opposite,” Fry says with a wry chuckle. “This is way off in another galaxy, opposite.”

“So, did you give me these flowers as a friend?” I say in a timid way. It sounds so foreign to me. To feel so vulnerable.

But it’s okay to be vulnerable in front of your best friend. And it doesn’t have to Mean—-

Oh God, his eyes…

They are so soft and dreamy…

He moves in close to me again and whispers, “Wanna find out?”

I subconsciously bite one of my nails, a new human habit of mine.

“Uh-huh,” I answer weakly, and we go into our apartment side by side.

I am wondering why I feel so weak in the knees like all those cliche human romance movies say. It’s like… Fry has gained an interesting, cool new demeanor from not trying to get with someone who doesn’t want him. It’s as though by finally rejecting someone who has rejected him, it’s given him this air of…

Sexy confidence.

I’m not one who generally likes to be dominated but this new Fry is so damn hot.

“Bed?” I squeak out as we get inside and Fry closes the door.

“Huh, what? The bed?” Fry asks, starting to sound more like himself.

“We… do you want to go to your bed… with me?” I ask hopefully and looks thoughtful for a moment, then shakes his head.

“Yes, actually. But… now, for now…. Let’s.. talk.”

Before I can respond, he takes my free hand and brings me to the couch.

I’m still holding the flowers he gave me.

“I’ll… go put your flowers in a vase with water…” Fry says and gently takes the flowers from me, getting up to go to the kitchen.

Why does it feel so nice to be taken care of this way? How did Leela not feel good as Fry acts so gentleman like and sweet?

I sit there feeling so weird in my chest, and fuzzy and warm, and when he comes back, he sits close to me.

“Is this okay, Bender? To sit next you this close? That I kissed you earlier on the cheek? Is this okay?” He sounds a bit frantic, and nervous, but I think it’s cute. He is so thoughtful of everything. He wants to make sure he didn’t cross the line.

“Yes. Yes to all of it,” I say softly, and he sighs in relief. “So… Fry?”

Fry looks at me with a smile and says, “Yeah?”

“The flowers…?” I feel silly to ask, but it is such… it really was a thoughtful gift.

“Oh. Yeah. So… I couldn’t find a vase. I had to use a large glass cup. I hope that’s okay. I placed it in water at least. Sorry,” he says sheepishly.

I grin and move in closer to him, “No, you silly, cute man…” I try to sound flirtatious and Fry’s eyes widen. I move my hand and place it on his chest, my palm flat. I move my hand upward in a smooth motion and lean in to his face. I swear I hear him moan a bit as I get closer to his whole body, and it’s all the encouragement I need. “Are the flowers because I’m your friend, or something else?”

“Bender..” Fry bites his lip, and moves in closer. “I think… you know.. what this means.”

“That I’m the best?” I say with a straight face and Fry laughs.

“Well, yes, but that’s not it. Bender, I… I think… I love you..” Fry says in a strong whisper, and I feel on top of the world….

“After all these years, why’d it take you so damn long to say it?” I almost say in a frustrated way. Fry laughs.

That’s my Bender..” He says with a grin.

Your Bender..?” I feel my breath hitch. “So… so you want me to be yours, Fry?”

Fry suddenly puts his arms around me and pulls me so close, we are almost kissing.

“What does this feel like?” Fry whispers.

“Like.. you want to hug me?” I say in a faux naive way. What I want to say is yes, I’m all yours, forever… but it sounds too real… I try to tell him yes with my stare instead… and he doesn’t seem to get it yet. I think I need to be more blunt.

“Oh, my… are you serious, Bender? I’m on top of you, holding you close to my body on our couch!” Fry shakes his head.

“Kiss me, then. Seal the de—” before I can say another word, he closes the tiny gap between our mouths and presses his lips on mine.

“Mmm…!” I moan into his kiss, and he places his hands on my face, deepening it slowly.

Fry moans back, and licks my lips, begging to give us more to appreciate of one another—so I let his eager tongue slip inside my mouth.

I have never done this before, as a human.

Kissing as a robot was always so… electrical and fast, hard and rough. It was hot, literally— but I think even then I realized that it was an act of intimacy.

And this felt so intimate… but now, to kiss him was soft and sweet and warm and slow. It’s … excuse the corniness… but… it’s…

Romantic.

His kisses are incredibly sweet and feel amazing, and my hands travel to the seam of his pants, where I realize… he’s a guy. I feel so dumb, realizing, of course he is a guy! It is not a deterrent, as I feel so much passion heating inside of me, and I feel so aroused? I think that’s the word.

This was new, to say the least, but when my hand pressed against it, he eagerly moved against me, and I squeezed him a bit for good measure. My curiosity was reaching its peak, and I saw that human guys reacted similarly to being touched down there as human women… well, pretty similar… (as when I was a robot man dating human women).

“Ohh…! Ah, Bender…you’re … touching me…” he cries out a little, almost seemingly in shock this is happening as he breaks our kiss a moment to moan again and it sounds so sexy. I kiss him immediately after, with more passion.

“I want to touch you. Is that okay?” I say with a gruff, heavy voice, and Fry nods, whimpering under my rubbing hand. “Yeah, you like that?” I whisper as we continue to kiss.

Oh… yeah, I do, please…” he grabs my hand and puts it inside his pants.

This is where I freaked out.. and Fry noticed it.

“Ben—-Bender? Are you alright?” He asks me.

“Fry… this… this is really good, it feels really good, but… maybe… it’s too good? Let’s…” I move in to kiss his mouth softly and he smiles in this funny way, “let’s take it easy.”

Fry looks at me with a confused look at first, and a bit of surprise. He bites his lip and gives me a gentle look and then kisses the side of my mouth, sighing slowly, “Okay, baby.”

He takes my hand out of his pants and brings to his mouth, kissing my palm and my fingers.

“Uhh… Fry? That isn’t helping…” I mutter and he laughs.

“Sorry! Sorry….” He says with this hitch of a squeak in it.

“So…” I ask, and he sits up and moves in a sitting position. “Fry?” I take in a deep breath. “This is very new to me.”

Fry nods, “Uh, Yeah.. me too…”

We both laugh a little and I feel the back of my neck heat up.

“I never thought I’d hear you say to take it easy when it’s regarding… you know, sexual stuff?” Fry crinkles his nose. “Like, do you.. are you sure you like this? I’m worried you’re disgusted by me, in general or because I’m a guy. Or.. both?” He says in a painful way, and looks at me as if he is bracing to be hit. It hits my heart in a blow and I feel tired and ready to cry.

“Fry… I liked it,” I move in closer, and touch his hand. He smiles slowly, relief spreading on his face. “I liked you… it was so good… I just.. for some reason, I.. I want to talk to you first, and really sort out what.. what we are. Though, I wouldn’t mind continuing with that after..”

He laughs in this happy, immature way, and puts his hand over her mouth, his face red.

“Bender, can I just say what’s been on my mind?” He says and I nod. “You look so beautiful. You are so.. hot… and I am so attracted to you.”

“That’s all? I knew that, baby,” I say in a suave voice and he giggles.

“Well, that’s not all. It’s those other dumb, weird things… you know the stuff that makes you feel?”

“Emotions?” I roll my eyes and he nods. “I’m supposed to be the neophyte here when it comes to human stuff, not you!”

“Neo… what?” Fry scratches his head, and I laugh.

“Nothing. It’s like… you act like you don’t understand human stuff. It’s funny.” I lean in close and lay down on his lap. “Cause you’re a dumb human.”

Fry plays with my hair, and says softly, “You are, too. A human, I mean…”

I smile and let him play with my hair. “Hey Fry?” I turn around a bit and let him see me eye to eye.

“Yes?” Fry says with a grin.

“You know why I really wanted to be human, well.. other than the reasons I told you?”

Fry shakes his head. “No. Why?”

“Because I wanted to get closer to you…” it feels good to finally let it out, like it was a bunch of helium I accidentally swallowed and it finally was let out of my lungs. I feel lighter. He looks at me in this dopey, dreamy stare, and I smile.

Fry looks at me in a huge grin, “Really?”

“Yeah. Not only that…” I move up and a bit, and I lean in to hug him tight.

“But, I love you, Fry… I have for… like, ever since I knew you. You changed my whole life. You made it better. You gave me hope that I can always be more and to not give up on myself. And ..” I move back a bit and kiss his forehead. “I am so happy to feel like this with you.”

“You.. you love me?” Fry says in this quiet shock.

“Mmm.. yeah, meatbag, I think I do…” I lean in to kiss his cheek, and he touches his cheek after, looking lost for a moment in some fantasy, and he snaps out of it, looking at me. “You ok, Fry?” I ask.

“I have never been better….Oh; Bender… you’re so wonderful, I’m so happy too!”

“You have such a way with words,” I roll my eyes and he softly chuckles.

I kiss him again in a gentle and sweet peck(he kisses me back instantly), and we embrace, talking about our future.
