Some legends should have warning signs.
For example.
There is a small town in Germany, that believe their children were targeted.
They say, Faye’s have been luring their children away from homes and trapping them in snow drifts. Freezing - causes their skin to turn blue.
As spring arrives, decay causes mushrooms to grow on the ground, under the bodies. The innocence from the child seaps into the mushrooms, making them magical.
Then, the Faye consume the mushrooms, absorbing the innocent magic of the lost, frozen children, making them appear blue.
Commonly known as smurfs.

This was so well crafted, it made me actually consider for a moment, just like considering the existence of the tooth fairy when I was young, lol...Hmmm! Fact! Good one, Kelli.
Impressive creative micro-fiction!!!💖💖💕
Wonderfully imaginative. At last, the truth is known!
I find this micro-fiction story fascinating., Kelli. I remember when the Smurf cartoons and children's books first came out where I live. My children were very young and were captivated by the Smurf cartoons on TV and the Smurf Island section of Carowinds Amusement Park. It never occurred to me to wonder how the Smurf story originated. This is a very imaginative fable to explain how they came to be. Thanks for sharing this!
