Everything That Glitters
Isn't Always Gold

It was July 4th, 1951. American was in the middle of the California Gold Rush. Gerald Harden was getting ready to load his latest shipment on the train bound for New York. Worried about reports of train heist, he decided to ship by night. However, a secret like this could not remain secret for long.
Three separate groups had planned to rob this train. But he was ready for anything that may happen. He made sure that he had security details in each car. This didn’t prove to be an effective deterrent.
The first group was able to get on top of the train and drop laughing gas inside. When they entered the car, they found themselves inside a cage. The police would be waiting for them in New York.
The second group connected explosives to the track. However, Mr. Harden sent a group ahead to inspect the track. They were arrested before they could light the wick.
Group three was a little more successful. They were able to board the train. They saw the detained group one still in the cage. They forced the conductor to stop the train. They got Mr. Hardens entire shipment of dirty clothes.
