Everything Green

Green, green, green.

So much green.

Of all shades, from pale mint to deep emerald.

It’s astonishing how many variations of this color exist and are placed on the vast canvas before me.

I stare at the painting as others push their way around me, trying to decipher the artist’s intent.

A meaning has to lie beneath the surface! One always exists. Even if it’s not immediately apparent.

But all I can fixate on are brush-stroked green forms.

Bushes, grass, trees, vines, leaves, moss.

Each is ready to spring to life off the page.

And lure me into their world.
