This is a story about cowboys, bullfighters, and bulls. The story is set in the arena where bull riding is taking place. The reader will experience the different personalities of each bull. The cowboy has to ride the bull for eight seconds without getting bucked off. A piece of cake, right?
If you have never been to a bull riding event, then you will see why this sport in the real world is very dangerous. This story is purely fictional. I want the young mind to experience a funny side of the bull and the cowboy.
Looks like the event is ready to start. Take you seat and get ready to enjoy the event.
Tornado is the first bull out of the chute.
"Hey, cowboy, are you ready for the ride?" asks Tornado.
The cowboy nods his head, and the gate opens. Tornado jumps out of the chute and into a spin. Faster and faster he spins. The dust begins to form a funnel cloud. The cowboy's body is lost in the funnel cloud. Suddenly, the cowboy flies out of the funnel and lands on his back in the dirt.
"Another cowboy eats the dirt. No score for the cowboy." Tornado says victoriously.
The next bull out is Digger. He is a big red bull with small horns. He is pawing at the dirt while slinging his head back and forth, slinging snot.
"Come on, cowboy! Let's get this show on the road. I don't know what your problem is. You aren't going to make the whistle anyway. Come on, let's go." Digger says anxiously.
The gate opens, and Digger leaps into the air while doing a belly roll. The ride lasts two seconds. The cowboy does a backward flip and lands on his back. Digger puts his foot on the cowboy's chest and proceeds to kiss him all over his face.
"Just a little love tap for you." Digger tells the cowboy as he heads for the gate.
The bullfighters run over to the cowboy to see if he has suffered any injuries.
"I'm okay. The only thing damaged is my pride. Imagine getting slimed by a bull." states the cowboy as he stands up and dusts his hat off.
Next up is Freckles. He is a huge black bull with a white face and little black freckles across his face. He is standing patiently in the chute, waiting for the cowboy to get ready.
The chute opens, and Freckles turns to the right as he breaks into a spin. He ends the spin as he starts bucking. Back and forth he goes. The cowboy is holding on. The whistle blows. The cowboy makes the eight-second ride.
"You know I just gave you that ride, don't you, cowboy?" Freckles says, taunting the cowboy.
Freckles turns to the bullfighters. He puts his head down and starts pawing at the ground. "I am giving you fair warning, fellas. It's show time." he says as he charges the bullfighters, sending them running in all directions.
After a few minutes of chasing the bullfighters, Freckles exits through the awaiting gate, swinging his tail as goes in total bull fashion.
"Our next bull up is one of our Native American bulls that is on tour. His name is Spirit Wind." says the announcer.
Spirit Wind is a white bull with a dark gray head. He has a massive hump and long horns.
The gate opens, and Spirit Wind starts bucking. His back legs kick straight up, throwing the cowboy over his horns. The cowboy lands in the dirt beneath Spirit Wind's front legs. Spirit Wind sees the cowboy in the dirt and puts his nose to the cowboy's smearing snot over his face.
"Yuck, yuck, that is nasty!" says the cowboy.
Spirit Wind laughingly taunts the cowboy. "It wouldn't be snot all over your face if you had landed on the other end." he says.
The bullfighters are pointing to the cowboy and laughing a him.
"The Great Spirit has spared another cowboy from great harm." Spirit Wind tells the other bulls as he enters the bullpen.
The last bull is in the chute. His name is Ozzie. Ozzie is a black bull with some white on his belly and feet. He has no horns and is also called a muley bull.
The cowboy nods his head. The gate opens. Ozzie jumps for the open space, bucking and spinning. The cowboy is hanging on. Ozzie uses his tail like a whip. He slaps the cowboy across the face. The cowboy still hangs on. Ozzie wraps his tail around the cowboy's neck and jerks him to the ground.
"No ride this time, cowboy." Ozzie tells the cowboy as he exits the arena.
The cowboy lies motionless on the ground. The bullfighters call for the medical staff to examine the lifeless cowboy. After a few minutes, they help the cowboy to his feet and the crowd applauds the cowboy. The wind was knocked out of the cowboy when Ozzie threw him to the ground.
Meanwhile, back in the bullpen, Ozzie is boasting to the other bulls about how he got the cowboy off his back. Suddenly, a huge dark shadow appears.
The bulls turn toward the shadow and see the face of the greatest bull ever.
The bull is none other than the great Foley.
"The ride I just witnessed is the worst ride I have ever had the displeasure of seeing." Foley says with distaste.
"There is no glory in a ride when you have to cheat to win. We as proud bulls cannot tolerate this in our conduct. You will be punished, Ozzie, for your actions. We will not knowingly do harm to the cowboys or the bullfighters. This is our code of the bulls." Foley tells the bulls in the pen.
After the event is over and the bulls return to the farm, Foley calls a meeting with the bulls. The bulls vote to expel Ozzie from the tour for the remaining year. He is also put on probation for the following year. If his conduct improves, he can remain on tour.
This concludes the bull riding for the time being. We hope to see all of you in the future at a bull riding event in your area. See you soon.
THE END
