She is due to leave the hospital today, just waiting on her husband, Sam, to pick her up. They’ll be taking their newborn daughter, Samantha, home for the first time.
She’s extremely excited but a little nervous too. As a new mother she’s finding parenthood a little daunting and is unsure of her abilities, but Sam keeps assuring her she’s going to be a great mother to Samantha.
As she patiently waits, she takes a long hard look at her life and smiles with happiness. Her biggest dream was to be a wife and mother and she’s finally achieved both.

I was challenged to write a drabble of the word 'wife'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
