Dr. Nyx

The Unfortunate Fate of Doctor Evelyn Nyx

By David MPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The brilliant astronomer and physicist, Dr. Evelyn Nyx had spent years trying to decipher the universe, only to find an extraordinary celestial enigma—the dark star, invisible but pulsing with mysterious energy.

She felt intrigued and desired to test this new energy and so she built a device that could draw the energy from that dark star.

During one of her experiments, everything changed dramatically: the device malfunctioned, and she was engulfed with a catastrophic surge of dark energy.

When Evelyn finally emerged from the chaos, she was changed. The dark energy had bonded with the very essence of her being, granting her incredible powers—shadow manipulation, reality warping, and time alteration.

But such power bore the most deleterious cost of all. It had irreparably warped her mind, and filled her with an inhumanly deep-seated contempt for humanity in all its manifestations.

She became Dr. Nyx, a being with a terrifying desire to remake the world into a world in which only the strongest survived, and the weak were snuffed like candles in a pit of darkness.

Now empowered with the capacity to plunge entire cities into perpetual night, to weave treacherous deceptions of illusion, and to bend time at her whim, Dr. Nyx now became a formidable threat to humanity.

Moved by a cold, calculatedly ambitious vision, she would see her ideals imposed upon the universe. Her ultimate goal being to reign supreme over a new shadowy reality where she is the invincible queen and where all goodness and light have been extinguished.
