Inflation continued across the land. One hundred trillion dollar bills continued to flow throughout America. Delawarean economist Danielle Bus knew something had to be done. She looked at the data. In being consumed by the numbers, she looked at every line and made it all dance on the page.

With the increase in prices, she observed that inflation did not arise across the board.

Also, she underlined and highlighted the parts of the information that showed her that the government needed to be out of the economy.

Her English bulldog, Primus, walked to her. She rubbed the back of his ears. She took off her glasses and sighed. She shook her fifty-seven-year-old head. Her husband Dr. Kesmen Bus walked in the door.

“I got you something.” It was a calculator that had buttons that looked like precious gems.

“Where did you find this?”

“The attic. I just got it fine tuned for you to use.”

“Yeah, right.”

Kesmen chuckled.

“So how close are you to saving the world from complete economic collapse?”

“I’ve been pouring over this stuff for hours….”

“Maybe you should take a break…I brought home Chinese.”

“There is no God but you’re a godsend!”

The couple opened the boxes and cracked egg rolls.

“What’s the most demanding part of your day? For me, it’s not the patients. It's politics.” Danielle laughed without sound and with supreme joy, not derision.

“You have to understand just how much bureaucratic nonsense goes on in this country. It’s simple though, really. Get the government to relinquish its stranglehold on the lives of individuals and we might have a breakthrough.”

“Thoracic surgery is nothing compared to balancing a budget….”

“Are you appeasing me?” Danielle asked sternly.

“No, honey. I’m just pointing out that what you do is so special, necessary.”

“I see.”
