Code is everywhere. Melanin concentration, hair texture, and eye color became currency. The market determined when blacks, browns, whites, yellows, and reds could exchange funds and trade with one another.

Within this whole scheme Marnus Covely, of mixed colors, always had trouble selling and purchasing things.

He had a position as a credit card executive in Wilmington, Delaware. Covely still sold his time at work and bought the necessities even if it took talking to supervisors and managers.

“I know. I’m telling you that I’m of all colors.” A DNA card entered the machine showed red. He exhaled in exasperation.
