One of the biggest nutrition myths is that low-carb is the only way to lose weight and burn fat. In this respect, it is significant to understand that though it is possible to scale down carbohydrate intake and lose some more weight, it is not a universal rule.

Carbohydrate is one of the main sources of energy for the body, the brain, and the muscles. The total exclusion or reduction of carbs may result in the following symptoms; fatigue, brain fog, and irritability. Besides, one must understand that not all carbs are similar. These products are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals that are helpful in the long run for the human body.

Refined carbohydrate and fat intake should be discouraged but all food groups should be included when you are in the process of losing body weight. Although fats and carbohydrates are often demonized, both are important in providing energy and maintaining body muscle. The secret is balance as well as choosing foods that will provide nutrients in amounts that are more than sufficient to make up for any calories that they may contain.

Cutting down on the amounts of foods consumed completely is a healthier approach to weight loss rather than going to extreme diets of proteins or fats alone, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and whole grain products should make up a balanced diet. Another category of factors is also related to weight control and includes maintaining routine exercising, proper rest, and coping with stress.

Therefore, it may be true, that as low-carb diets offer a guaranteed way of shedding some pounds, there are other options that can be taken. Ensuring that one takes balanced meals that have all the nutrients needed to help shed the extra weight and to also serve one’s overall body needs is very essential.
