Debating the Snow
a micro fiction

Previous storms had buried the block. This one dusted that carnage in twenty minutes flat.
“I need to go!” I yelled. Acrid rubber. Squealing.
Josh shuffled to the door. “Give it up, Kay. My tits are freezing.” I glared, watching him go. "C'mon!"
The wind howled like a cat in a fight–then was suddenly swallowed by a hair-raising silence.
I crunched and cursed my way inside.
We bickered until he tackled me onto the bed. We thrashed for hours. Loud, hot. Come morning, the world under a new white quilt had never stood so still. And never so perfectly quiet.
