You know, I decided to try online dating. Because nothing says romance like swiping right on a guy who looks like he’s auditioning for a role in a zombie movie.

And the first conversation? Oh, it’s a lot of, “Hey, how’s your day?” followed by a delightful silence that feels like a game of verbal hide-and-seek.

Then there’s the profile pictures. There’s always that one guy who insists on showing off his pet iguana or his collection of vintage action figures. I mean, I get it,you're interesting. But I’m not trying to date a guy who’s more excited about his comic book collection than about me.

I once matched with a guy who said he loved adventure and travel. So I thought, “Great, he sounds exciting.” Turns out, his idea of an adventure was ordering pizza from a new place. That’s not an adventure, that’s a quest for the perfect pepperoni!
