The legend whispered around the village of Shadowhaven echoed a warning, "to be kind to your wife".

It all started with Lord James when he married his very young bride, Sable, 'twas not a love match. Young Sable's job was to make this middle-aged Lord a father of many sons. After seasons of trying, the young bride was as barren as the Lord's frosty heart.

Lord James was cruel to Sable when her monthly spilled on the bedsheets. As punishment, he wrapped her in the bloody sheets and paraded her around the manor and village for everyone to witness her failure. The embarrassment was too much for her to bear. For it only conceived a deadly seed of murderous rage in Sable's empty womb.

Sable went to the town's wise woman to help her with a deadly request. The wise woman, who many whispered was a witch, agreed to help the young, innocent bride. She gave Sable a salve to spread on her husband's member as he struggled to have it stand tall. The salve will shrink it to the point of no return. Sable thanked the wise woman and went on her way.

When it was time for Sable to perform her wifely duties, she followed the instructions that fateful night. Lord James screamed and spat at Sable when he struggled with his wrinkled member. He faulted her for not exciting him enough. She laid him down with a voice as sweet as honey and told him not to worry.

With a quick rub of the salve on the offensive member, she watched and waited. She didn't have to wait long. The Lord's member receded into his body. He stared in absolute horror; his manhood had been eaten up by his own body. The shock of such a thing caused a massive cardiac rupture to the Lord. Sable was finally free, but her vengefulness did not end there.

After burying the Lord in the family cometary, she sought further aid from the wise woman again. After telling the wise woman of her wishes, the wise woman went to work. Using tree seeds, the wise woman cultivated a herbal potion mixed with the blood from Sable's monthly.

Sable then planted the trees around the cemetery and flowers hanging above her husband's tomb.

As the years passed, crimson trees grew tall, surrounding the Lord's resting place.

Sable's wishes were to send a message to the village of Shadowhaven. The vibrant crimson trees were a powerful symbol, reminding husbands to value their wives and not simply regard them as mere broodmares.
