Crazy-ass Cryptids: "Hey, Scratch My Back"
A Dog-man Gets into a Hairy Situation for a Good "Back-scratcher"
"Hey, scratch my back, will ya?" the Dog-man casually asks of his friend group. Sasquatch rolls his eyes, walking faster ahead of the rest to avoid having to scratch Dog-man again.
"Dude, we're all sick of scratching your back!" exclaims Goat-man with exasperation.
"I can't help it! I'm sheddin' my winter coat..."
"Dude, you like never stop shedding - what are you talking about?" retorts Goat-man.
As the group moves deeper into the woods, Dog-man falls further and further behind, distracted by the constant, all-over itch. Miserable, he tries - again - to relieve the itch by scraping his back across rough tree trunks and jutting rock edges.
Nothing works.
It is as he is lagging behind his group, desperately trying to scratch his back with his claws, that he spots a group of humans camping on the edge of the woods. They have a large mutt, and the owner is brushing it with a brush Dog-man is sure would help ease his itching.
He's gotta have it.
He waits, anxious, until the camp heads to bed for the night. His prize rests on one of the camp tables...
The mutt begins barking, and Dog-man darts away; brush in hand.

A fun spin on her last name, Baker enjoyed creating "Baker's Dozen" lists for various topics! She also wrote candidly about her mental health & a LOT of fiction. Discontinued writing on Vocal in 2023 as Vocal is a fruitless venture.
