We commemorate Independence Day on August 15. On this day, we were freed from the oppressive control of the British. For more than 200 years, the British oppressed and controlled our people.
In a Convent school, Rohan completed seventh grade. He had participated in a debating tournament conducted in honour of Independence Day.
The debate tournament, therefore, began following the completion of the school student procession, NCC performance, and cultural event at the city's parade ground. The event was the final one of the day.
Rohan was preparing for his turn in the meantime. His turn finally arrived!
Rohan welcomed the Collector and other dignitaries before getting going.
He said that the world's economy primarily depends on China and India. However, China's neighbors have nothing on India!
Our Nation has a democracy, which makes our policies transparent and our economic tactics impartial. While in China, the rules are substantially stricter!
If we look back, numerous states have advanced by bounds as India celebrates its 75th anniversary of independence in 2021. Bihar, for instance, was once one of India's least developed states. The situation has improved much since then, though. It is currently used as a model in numerous scenarios for other states.
In the past 10 years, Gujarat has also experienced significant growth. All of this is attributable to the outstanding leadership and vision of their individual CMs.
Today, there are 137 crores of us. We will soon surpass China in terms of population as the largest country. If we don't develop more individuals with the intelligence and leadership necessary to lead the Nation, it will be tough to govern the country.
The Indian men's hockey team took the bronze medal at the recent Tokyo Olympics.
The squad finally earned an Olympic medal after 41 years.
The women's hockey team reached the semi-finals for the first time ever but ultimately fell short despite having a 3-1 lead at one stage in the game!
The main driving force behind this development was Mr Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, who provided unwavering support and motivation. Since five years ago, he has sponsored both national teams and will continue to do so. Everything is taken care of, including their correct nourishment and top-notch training.
The next hockey world championship, hosted in the Indian hockey capitals of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in 2023, is anticipated to be won by the men's hockey team from India. The largest hockey stadium in the world is being constructed at Rourkela.
In the next world cup, which will be hosted in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, and Terrassa, Spain, from July 1 to July 17, 2022, the women's squad is also anticipated to do well.
We need more of these leaders who can guide and lead our country and put us on the path of progress and development, just as one individual may alter the future of the sport of hockey in the Nation.
Rohan continued by saying that only through the spiritual and moral advancement of the populace will this progress be made feasible. Many bright individuals are emigrating from the United States.
He told the following tale: "Once, Major Dhyan Chand scored 15 goals on his own as India trounced Germany 16-1 in the 1936 Olympic Hockey competition. Following the game, Hitler, the dictator of Germany, ordered Major's stick to be broken and examined to see whether a magnet was within. Nothing was found despite the shattered stick!
Hitler then contacted Major in the evening and inquired what he did for a job, aware that a developing nation like India would not support the hockey players over the entire year!
In response, Dhyan Chand stated that he was a Major in the Indian Army.
Dhyan Chand was promised by Hitler that if he played for Germany, he would receive the highest rank in his Army as well as enormous riches that would allow his seven subsequent generations to live in luxury.
Major said he would joyfully embrace a life of poverty in his country rather than choose a wealthy life and betray his country because it is his responsibility to help his country advance, not his Nation's.
Rohan added that if Dr. Abdul Kalam had similarly left our Nation and moved to the US or elsewhere, one can only imagine what we would have lost!
This nativist sentiment is internal! English is a subject that is taught in all schools nowadays because of the significance we place on it. It's unfortunate that Sanskrit, the mother tongue of all languages and the language of our Sanskriti, is not taught in even a fraction of the so-called contemporary schools.
If Sanskrit were taught in all schools instead of English, we would advance far more quickly.
How is it possible for us to ignore and forget about our Sanskrit language?
"Our nation is our obligation and it is our duty to take it along the road to growth," Rohan said in a closing statement to his address.
The entire audience applauded Rohan!
He went to the Collector to get his award after undoubtedly winning first place.
However, he spoke the truth about the state of our educational system today and how pitiful it is. Germany places the highest value on its educational system and pays teachers and professors more than their country's scientists and medical professionals combined!
How and why could we have neglected our educational system then? Because they realized that unless we Indians adhered to our Sanskriti and spoke Sanskrit, it was impossible to control us, the British pulled a terrible prank and substituted their language, "English," for our own language, "Sanskrit." And even after 75 years of independence, we still behave following their guidelines like respectful pupils.
It reflects poorly on us and how well we grasp our culture and traditions. The issue might get so bad that it would be very challenging to handle if we don't start making changes in ourselves immediately.
Therefore, let us commit on this Independence Day to free ourselves from our erroneous beliefs, set out on a path of spiritual and moral development, and restore our country's status as the "Golden Bird"!
