Nobody can hear you scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. That's the statement David Misek believed when he took on the mission of going to Aludra IV, an empty planet of the Delta Angetenar Solar System.

As the spaceship mad its way to the planet, David thought about the events that led him to get on this mission. Captain Goodwin was looking for an astronaut that wanted to travel to this planet, but no one volunteered except for David.

David heard the stories about Aludra IV and the facts about the planet fascinated him. While others were afraid to travel to a planet where there was no sign of life, David jumped at the opportunity. Captain Goodwin was grateful for David's eagerness and gave him the rundown of what his mission was for when he arrived at the planet.

"We've gotten word that there has been reports of life on Aludra IV," the captain told David. "Your job is to go to the planet and see what you can find. And if you do find any kind of life there, we need you to document it with the camera we're sending with you. David, if you can confirm there is life there, this is going to advance us in so many ways."

David took the stacks of papers containing all the information he needed to know about the planet from the captain, as well as the camera and smiled. "I won't let you down," captain."

David turned to look at the camera that sat next to him on the spaceship. The meeting with the captain was a month ago. He spent most of his time reading up on Aludra IV and training for the mission. And now, he was on his way there and he couldn't wait to see what he would find.

The planet was known to have a dense atmosphere and David wondered if that would cause a problem with taking pictures. Well, the captain does know about Aludra IV's features. I'm sure the camera is made to work no matter what the circumstances are. David tried to calm himself down. He wanted everything to go according to plan and show the people at the base he could do it. In the ten years he'd been an astronaut, this was the first time he was on a solo mission and he didn't want anything to go wrong.

David was to spend three weeks on Aludra IV before he was to return back to earth. Three weeks here was going to be three years on the planet, giving him more than enough time to collect all the date and evidence he needed.

I sure hope I do find life there. Just think of how amazing it would be, David smiled. For centuries, it was believed that this planet was just a dead planet floating in the solar system. If David found life, not only would it bring popularity to the base, but also get his name in the papers.

And that's what made David take on this mission in the first place. He was tired of always being pushed aside at the base. No one believed he could do anything on his own and now it was time for him to make his name well-known.

He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. There was still a few hours before he landed on Aludra IV, giving him enough time to get some sleep before he was going to be busy for the next three weeks. Soon, he told himself as he started to fall asleep. I will prove to everyone how wrong they'd been about me.
