There weren’t always dragons in the valley. Seething flames with visions of carnage. Fire promised to only the barren. Terrors bringing destruction only years could replace. I vision cobblestone bricks left in dust and local shops scattered to pieces. For dragons wreaked of havoc and were always unpredictable. Only tamable by the fiercest of knights. Knights - a figure of angels. Fierce and might, leather and scales. Wings of might brought quickness to travel between woods and valleys. The valley was fear. A spirit of fear. For no dragon fancied being in the eye. Dragons in the valley meant the most of danger. For themselves and for the valley. Gathering in the valley meant fire to the meadow.
Babies were laid by eggs. Leaving Dragons home to hatch eggs while other dragon scoured hunting. Fires in the woods meant separation of dragons and death to eggs. Death to eggs brought forth rages of anger. And anger brought fire.
A fired dragon brings destruction to all. Everything in sight and even whats not. How the fires were started were beyond tale. As were the ones of taming them. No way of stopping them from growing out of control. Once eggs were laid successful move was not likely. Best for dragon to lay eggs where they stay.
Dragons don’t mate for life. But stayed together while eggs were laid in groups of three or more. Dragons in the valley meant that fire had brought death to the woods. And death of eggs brought immense anger for both dragons.
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. But when there was there was damage to be told of. Villages ruined. Burned to an ash. Just like that of our once home. Families desolated like those none other than our own. Homes settled to dust as if built by anything other than worth. Dragons in the valley brought terrors. And that meant havoc for any and all living and non.
We hold no value in jewelry or gold. We pay no mind to what you own. Our only care is that we lost our homes and nests and all of you are at mercy to pay. With the planned method of attack being assault by flame. Burn everything to make humans suffer for lost eggs.
You see, the dragons lost greatly also. Nests destroyed by fire chasing fire. From the woods to the valleys and back once again. All in path swallowed by ruthless fire. Eggs stolen in the night. Claiming all in sight that had no ability to flee. Gathering in the valley was the only retreat with no intent shown to mercy.
For a season is long and dragon only found one mate. No more eggs until next season. Fire ate it all and fire dragon brings to you and your people. Eggs shows no safety and fire carries no mercy.
I spent all season picking out the best spot to nest in the most densest of woods. Eggs lay for twelve months safe from danger in nests of twigs and branches. Nestled to one another close to one another three at a time not too far from where dragon lay. Dragons have dragons, staying close for three years.
Shades that stay empty deduce terrors among the valley. And empty nests bring reduced population. Making dragons angrier than thou, fighting with all that they bring. Fire bringing more fire. More lost homes. More ashes. Nests full of dragons led the population.
From the wood to the valleys and back again dragons chase fire both back and forth while taunting devastation. Spirits of anger buzz the heads of terrors. For a terror is where four or more dragons are gathered.
Now what if this were all a story of chasing the dragon chasing fire.
