Love comes in all forms

By Dr Jake HongPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Lantern light shimmered like stars in the darkened reflection of the lake.

She was in her lover’s arms, a place that made her feel safe; she could look up into their eyes, a place where she found an endless patience.

“My Lady…”

“I know…” She pressed a kiss onto her lover’s lips.

They headed back towards the opulent mansion and to the party in her husband’s honour.

She revelled in these stolen moments, for those precious seconds she got to have with her bodyguard.

Because they were both women and both hopelessly in love with what they couldn’t have.

About the Creator

Dr Jake Hong

I am a doctor with special interest in tactical, austere and operational Medicine. But I am also interested in fiction; in how we can learn to empathise, feel hope, and mature alone or in our interpersonal relationships through a good tale.
