The Goat

Once upon a time, there was a man who was feeling extremely cramped in his small house. He was unable to find peace of mind due to the constant discomfort caused by the limited space he had. Desperate for a solution, he decided to approach the wise teacher in his town and seek his guidance.

Upon hearing the man's predicament, the teacher calmly listened and thought for a moment before providing a simple solution. "Go home and bring the goat inside," he said. The man was surprised by the teacher's response but decided to follow his advice nonetheless.

The next day, the man returned to the teacher and complained that his discomfort had only increased since he brought the goat inside. The teacher, still calm and collected, advised him to go home and bring the chickens inside as well.

The following day, the man returned and said that his discomfort had only worsened. The teacher suggested that he bring his cow inside the house as well. The man followed the teacher's advice, but the next day he returned to the teacher's house, feeling like he was going to explode from the discomfort.

The wise teacher, still composed, suggested that the man should take the goat out of the house that night. The man followed the teacher's advice and returned the next day to report that he felt a bit better. The teacher then advised him to take the chickens out of the house that night.

The following day, the man returned feeling even more relieved. The teacher suggested that he should go home, take the cow out of the house, and thoroughly clean his home. The man followed the teacher's advice and returned the next day, feeling completely at ease and grateful for the teacher's guidance.

He realized that his house was actually quite spacious, and it was his own mindset and perspective that made it seem cramped. He had been so caught up in his discomfort that he couldn't see the solution that was right in front of him.

The wise teacher had taught him an important lesson – sometimes the solution to our problems lies in changing our own mindset and perspective rather than trying to fix external circumstances. The man learned that he could find peace and contentment within himself, regardless of his external surroundings.

He thanked the teacher for his guidance and promised to use this valuable lesson in other aspects of his life as well. From that day on, he lived a more peaceful and content life, knowing that the solution to his problems was not always in changing his external circumstances but in changing his own perspective.

The lesson we can learn from this fable is that sometimes the solution to our problems lies in changing our own mindset and perspective rather than trying to fix external circumstances. We should learn to focus on what truly matters, let go of our attachment to material things, and find peace and contentment within ourselves.

Furthermore, the fable also teaches us to seek guidance and advice from wise and knowledgeable people when we encounter challenges or difficulties in our lives. The man was wise to approach the teacher for guidance, and the teacher's calm and collected demeanor and simple advice provided the man with a valuable lesson that he would carry with him for the rest of his life.

Overall, the fable highlights the importance of changing our own mindset and perspective in solving problems, letting go of our attachment to external things, and seeking guidance from wise and knowledgeable people when we need all about it.
