“Something’s happened to the stock,” Grafton Grale mentioned. He turned the screen to his superior. A black man named Kingfisher Tole, he headed the firm that produced microchips for brain research.
His eyes looked at where the stock fell for the afternoon just hours before the closing bell on the Wilmington Stock Exchange (WiSE).
“We can sell right now and still make a decent profit, sir,” Grale announced.
“I’ll be goddamned if I sell. We’re going to hold. We’re supposed to keep this company together. If we sell now, we’re going to be headed for the ash heap,” Tole said.
