Black Bird

Where am I...

I'm in a field of black space. No one else is here. It's just me, and me.

Am I trapped here?

Am I trapped inside my mind?

Is this what the inside of my mind looks like...

What do you do here?

What am I supposed to do.

My whole world has shut down,

In this darkness~

I keep falling into this darkness,

Over and Over,

Maybe this is where I belong now....

"It's time to go."- Appears a voice.

"Who was that?"

A bird flies from the distance.

It wasn't just any bird though,

It was a black bird. That was seeking answers.

"Who are you? I thought it was just me here."

"I'm the Black Bird."

"I can see that."

"Well, are you ready now?"- Said the black bird.

"Ready for what?"- I question.

"Well, it's my turn now."

What?

"What does that mean?"- I ask.

"It's my turn to live now. So, give me your body."

...

I'm dead?

"Uhh, I didn't know I was-."

The black bird moves its feet together.

"I'm technically still alive, though. Right?"

"No, you're in hospital. This is the part where I take your body."

"Sorry. But you're not taking my body, not when I'm physically aware of myself at this moment."

"But don't you want to be free?"

Free?

"How, free are we talking?"- I engage.

The bird moves closer. "Well, imagine, you're a bird who just got let out of its cage. Your freedom to the wild expands as more trees appear in the distance. You're not crying anymore, you're laughing."

"Hmm."

"Still, a, no?"

"I thought the Grimm reaper was supposed to take me."

"Black birds take those who don't have any hope, and we create a new life into hope once we reincarnate. So, you see, I just need your body."

"But, what will happen to me..."

"I already told you; you'll be free."

"Yeah but, what will actually happen to me. Will I be forgotten? Lost?"

"Forgotten and lost into your freedom, your soul will finally let you go from what was keeping you a hostage in this the world."

"I'm scared..."

"And that's exactly how everyone feels before it happens~"

"How do I know you aren't lying to me?"

"Your dead."

...

"How will you take my body..."

"Just, let me handle it."

I sigh...

I mean, I am dead after all. I don't have anything to lose, I've lost it all already.

"Well. I hope you treat this body better than I did."

"I will."- The black bird looks at me.

The bird moves closer towards me, flying up towards my head~

Suddenly, the bird drills a hole in my head...

Sucking my soul out of my body as its beak digs deeper down into the darkness of my mind.

I'm flowing out~

My body has fallen.

It has fallen to the ground.

My soul...

What happened to it.

What is it now?

What did the bird do to it?

What am I now?

Am I just a fallen angel with its inner demon exposed now?

Who am I?

My soul...

I'm nothing now, just a glow of light.

A glow of light that holds no purpose...

I'm just existing now~
