Baptized in Starlight
“Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art— Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night And watching, with eternal lids apart, Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite” ~John Keats

In the vast darkness of space there exists repose with no rest, only sprays of brilliant life in cold, unending chaos.
Millennia unfolded into churning plasma, swirling in brilliant primordial bliss until the fruits of its endeavor outgrew the confines of its base, and exploded into something unique… and glorious. When the universe was born, did the universal creator cry out in the tribulation of birth, or did human life come together as a culmination of electrical and magnetic thought, a whisper of the cosmos brought shrieking into the present? Does the nucleosynthesis of star-silver hold the power of creation?

Nearly all the elements in the human body were created in a star and many have come through several supernovas. The burning that rages inside of stars draws on tremendous amounts of fuel and creates enormous stores of energy. Have not all burned for answers, yearned for resolute understanding? Is there not a flame inside of all, sparking the fumes, igniting the will and pursuit of celestial significance?

The cry of space unheard by listeners, born at the beginning of all things and racing for eons into the unknown with no answer for how to finish; is not lost in a vacuum. It eternally churns in the belly of all creation, a pinpoint in the fabric of the unyielding universe, deliciously longing to be heard.
When the twinkle of life is beholden in the eyes of a newborn, does the mother not breathe in the sight of that as a spiritual awakening likened to the beauty in the heavens of the night? Does not the allure of a lone flower in a field of green grass hold within it the same code as all of the cosmos above? Is not the glimmer of apotelesma seen even in mirrored waters before dawn?

In the challenge of my time, I am one with infinity, sidereal, awash on the aphelion of my travels in the immeasurable expanse of space, a macrocosm in a tidal pool of sparkling darkness. I have witnessed the supernova of stars that have seen their end and in so doing created the light of so many others. I’ve engulfed countless unknowns and touched light as it is born. The Titans came and perished, two worlds collided, and the debris moved through me with force unreckoned in human terms. I have understood hatred and bore the burden of loneliness. I have bathed my heart in stardust and my soul has reveled in the dark.

The wild winds of burning suns and the gyrating rings of planets have been my playground. The eyes of the universe herself have been my mother and in one violent moment, I am torn from that existence, from the knowledge I have so adored.
Utter devastation rips at the very fabric of my being as I am pushed through the black hole, awash with fear as my knowledge perishes within the void. The comfort and beauty of the ethereal has turned to cinders and withered away, and I now travel into light brighter than the most intensely illuminated of heavenly bodies. My screams in the vacuum of space, unheard for the ages, pirouette from the voicelessness of unending chaos, and rush anew from infant lungs; as I am brought out into the light, consumed by terror and shrieking for salvation.
The earthly mother takes me, and the touch of her hand brings comfort. Slowly, knowledge of my origin sinks into the abyss of forbidden memory. I gaze upon the beauty of creation as my new mother smiles at me, and the starlight winks its last as I give myself completely to her. I have been baptized in starlight and remade anew.

Flowed well, and poetic! Sometimes I go crazy thinking about how vast everything is. I swear we are just the molecules ir atoms of someone else’s universe
I love Keats's poetry. The connection to your exploration through the cosmos is a perfect pairing. One of my favorite lines: "The wild winds of burning suns and the gyrating rings of planets have been my playground."
