I awoke in a sweat
Neck wet
Shallow breath
My heart still racing
That kiss, her lips, the small of her back
I could see her face clearly
In the dream world she accepted the real me
Flaws, scars, insecurities, sins
The me that I kept hidden within
The me that never cried, but felt every pang of sorrow completely
The me that skipped prologues and started on chapter One
The me that was late for prayer
Yet she was always there
In the sunlight, I ached for her presence
I avoided energy drinks
Always on the brink
Of sleep and wakefulness
Hoping to see her when my eyes were closed
Just being still
Until...
I picked up the phone one night
And there she was in plain sight
Same face- so soft and bright
Ignited by backlight
Of course I swiped right
They say a name is a powerful thing
Harkening what a soul will bring
This one hit me like a truck
Her profile name - Goodluck
